SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,618, dated August 31, 1897. Application filed December 5, 1896. Serial No. 614,662- Term of patent 14 years- To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, J OHAN M. ANDERSEN, of Boston, in the county of Suffolk and State of Massachusetts, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Bicycle-Frames, of which the following description, in connection with the accompanyin g drawing, is a specification, like letters on the drawing representing like parts.
The design relates to a bicycle-frame of that class known as ladies bicycles; and it consists in a bicycle-frame distinguished by its peculiar shape, as will be hereinafter set forth and claimed.
The drawing represents in side elevation a bicycle-frame embodying this design.
The leading and distinctive feature of my design consists in theirregular seat-post composed of the straight upper portion a, the straight lower portion or tube-section a in the same plane or line as the upper portion a, and the intermediate rearwardly-ourved portion a, extended rearward] y beyond the plane of the portions a a and forward beyond the plane of the parts a a up to the head-post b to form the inclined front bar I), having the curved lower portion 12' integral with the curved portion'a of the seat-post, so that the head-post b is connected to the inclined frame-rods b by a single continuous tube composed of converging inclined sections or parts a b, united by an enlarged curved portion a. The head-post I) has extended from its lower end the inclined bar 11 which is joined to the crank-hanger a, to which the 35 section a of the scat-post is also joined.
I claim- The design for a bicycle frame herein shown and described.
