SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 26,050, dated September 15, 1896.

To u/l whom i/ may (IUILJKJILI Be it known that I, A\NNAI(.1\IAY,& citizen of the United States, residing at the city of Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia and State of Pen nsylvania,have invented and produced a newand original Design for aCarpet or other Fabric, of which the following is a specification, reference being had more particularly to the accompanying drawing, illustrating the same and forming part hereof.

Mydesign is otthe style of the sixteenth cen tury and its leading feature is a panel within or upon which appears a Chintz-pattern and chains of conventional flowers. The coloring and kind of carpet employed are not material to my design and consequently may be varied.

In the drawing, a is the body, I) the border, and a b the complete carpet.

c is a panel within which appearsaehiutzpattern (Z, composed of flower and leaf forms.

e are chains of conventional flowers.

\Vhat I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

1. In a design for a carpet, the body 11, substantially as shown.

2. In a design for a carpet, the border 11, substantially as shown.

3. The design for a carpet consisting of the body a, and border I), substantially as shown.
