DESIGN FOR A KNIFE OR FORK HANDLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 26,017, dated September 15, 1896.

Be it known that I, HUBERT C. HART, a citizen of the United States, residing at Unionvillefin the county of Hartford and State of Connecticut, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Knife or Fork Handles; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being bad to the accom panying drawings, forminga part thereof.
The present invention has for its object to provide a new and useful design for knife and fork handles, substantially as shown in the drawings and hereinafter described and claimed.
Figure 1 of the drawings represents a side elevation of a table-knife, showing the handle thereof, embodying my design and the dotted lines over the blade illustratingits application to a fork; Fig. 2, a cross-section of the handle, taken on line 1 x of Fig. 1.
In the accompanying drawings, A represents the handle of a knife or fork slightly tapering and rounded at its outer end, as shown. A smooth raised surface a forms the central portion of each side of the handle, which is surrounded by two longitudinal lines of beads b. Upon the outer side of these lines of beads is a raised border 0, which border extends around the handle on both sides thereof, and at the ends of the handle are ornamental scrolls d, which extend between the lines of beads and upon the raised surface of the handle, as shown in Fig. 1 of the drawin gs.
Having now fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a knife or fork handle substantially as herein shown and described.
