be it known that I, HENRY lH-us'roup a citizen of the l'nited States, residing at ltrook l \n, in the eountyot Kings and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Books, of which the tollowing, with the accompanying draw lugs, isa specification.

Referring to the drawings, Figure l is a perspective View showing the book in the closed condition, and Fig. 2 is a similar view showing the book open.

The loading features of my design are the rectangular outline, the covers projecting on three sides and presenting the appearance of woven fabric, the leaves having triangular members on the outer long edges folded inward to conform to the rectangular outline, and the ornamental bow or knot of ribbons placed on the outer tnlgcs ot' the covers at their mid-length.

indicate the ll l3 are the leaves, rectangular in gent-ml outline, but having the triangular members It l3, extending the full length of the outer edge, each havingthe salient angle o rounded, as shown, and folded inward upon the body of the leaf.

1.) is the ornamental bow or knot of ribbons arranged at the middle of the outerloug edges of the covers.

The whole presents a pleasing and attract i\e appearance, especially when the colors of the eovers, leaves, and ribbons have been selected and combined with due regard to harmony.
