DESIGN FOR A SPOON.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 24,507, dated July 30, 1895. Application filed .Tune 26, 1895. Serial No. 554.141. Term of patent 7 years.

To all whom it may concerns Be it known that l, CHARLES U. WIENTGE,

of the city of Providence, in the connty of Providence and State of Rhode Island, have invented and produced a new and original Design for the Handles of Spoons and Similar Articles, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.

Figure 1 representsa landle attached to the bowl portion of a spoon and illnstrating my new design, the tine portion of a fork being dotted in position. Fly. 2 represents an enlarged cross-sectional View of the hanclle, showing the beaded borders and the convex panel.

The leading features of my design for handles of spoons and similar articles consist in the elongated diamondslaped handle joined to the main portion of the article byagradua'lly-widening base and having the raised beaded border following the ontline and the convex panel included within the bordel'.

In the drawings, 5 indicates the handle, and

6 the bowl portion of a spoon to which the handle is attached. It may, lowever, indicate the main portion of any similar article, one of which is indicated in dotted lines. The Outline of the handle beginning at the main body of the article at 7 7 gradually curves inward, contracting the width of the handle to 8 8, thence outward to 9 9 and again inward to 10. The surface ornamentation consists of the beaded border 11 raised from the obverse surface of the handle and following the outline thereof at a slight distance from the edge. VVithn the upper portions of the border, above the points 8 8, is the convex panel 12.

What I claim is- The design for a handle for a spoon or similar article as herein shown and described.
