DESIGN FOR A SPOON.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 20,822, dated June 9, 1891.
Application filed May 12, 1891. Serial No. 392,500. Term of patent 3% years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HENRY Il. JACOBS, a citizen of the United States, residing at the city of iVashington, in thc District of Columbia, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Spoons, of which the following is a specification, reference beinghad to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.
The leading feature of my design consists of the following elements displayed and arranged as illustrated: The handle consists of the representation of a cannon finished at its end with a cap-piece, the top of which is decorated with a rosette of leaves radiating from a central point, from which extends an ornamental knob a. Extending downwardly from the cap-piece and encircling the end of the cannon is a border of leaves. The cannon is ornamented with a fioral wreath e, eutwning it lengthwise. 'lhe cannon is divided into two sections by a beaded ring, under which appear the numerals 1861. Upon the upper section oi.' the cannon is a perspective view of the Mount vVernon Mansion. Upon the lower section is a perspective view of the Arlington Mansion. fithin the bowl of the spoon is a landscape View showing the United States Capitol, and iu the foreground the statue erected to the memoryof President Garfield.
TWhat l claim is- A design fora historical spoon, as herein described and illustrated.
