DESIGN FOR ROSETTES FOR JEWELRY.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 14.704, dated February 19. 1884.

To all whom, (it may concern.-

Be it known that I, Jose h F. CHATELLIER, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design in Rosettes for Jewelry, of which the following is a full, true, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings.

This design relates to rosettes forjewelry. and is especiallyadapted as asetting forgems; and it consists of a series of converging loops, or, as they are technically called, palms, with graded or decreasing spherules or balls displayed therein.

Figure 1 represents a top view of the design; Fig. 2, a view of one of the palms and the balls; Fig. 3, a sectional View through Fig. 1; and Fig. 4, a bottom view of the de sign.

A circular piece, A, is first provided. Surrounding this are the converging palms B. which may be of the same length or of different lengths. These palms are exteriorly adjacent. graded spherules C, increasing in size from the center outward.

It will be obvious that the surfaces of the palms may be ornamented in various ways, as

l l l indicated in Fig. 4, and that they may be made of greater or less size. or so as to be almost completely concealed by spherules.

It will be also obvious that the center A may be solid. or may serve as the setting for a gem, as indicated in dotted lines in Fig. 3. It will be obvious that this design is applicable to many forms of jewelrysuch as pins, bracelets. earrings, chains, &c.

\Vhat I claim as my design, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

1. The new design for rosettes forjewelry, herein shown, consisting of a central piece and a series of converging loops surrounding said center. and displaying radial lines of spherules increasing in size from the center outward.
