READING AND WAINSCOTING F WALLS.
Application filed October 17, 1910. Serial No. 587,625
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented July 4, 1911.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, RICHARD S EINER, a subject of the grand duke of Baden, residing at Pforzheiin, in Baden, Germany, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Beading and Wainscoting of Walls, of which the following is a specification.
The present invention has for its object a new arrangement for the beading and wainscoting of walls by means of which changes may be made and the wainscoting or beading renewed whenever desired.
The attached drawings represent as an example an execution of the invention in two designs, of which:
Figure 1 is a cut through the Wainscoting and the wall, showing the method of attaching the heading. Fig. 2 is a front View.
The invention consists in a metal groove ((1) running along the wall which holds by its springthe beading (b) in such a manner that said beading may be taken out and changed at will. The groove is made in a nonoxidizing metal impervious to damp and is placed in the wall (a) as soon as the same is built and before it is plastered. As will be seen from the drawing the spring groove is placed in such a manner on the plaster (d) which supports it, that when the plastcring of the wall is finished the same presents a level surface with the piece (a) fastened therein.
By means of the spring the beading (b) is very easily Withdrawn when it is desired to modify the design or to change the Wainscoting '(e). Itis quite impossible to damage the wall in either of these operations because the direction of the movement of the beading is always perpendicular to the surface of the Wall. The outer surface of the heading may present any desired shape, either fiat or curved according to taste.
I claim consisting of a grooved elastic holding member secured to the Wall within the plaster,
and a beaded strip overlying the Wainscoting section and held thereupon by engagement of its bead portion in the groove of the holding member.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand in the presence of two Witnesses.
- RICHARD STEINER.
