J'OHN M. G. DABMS, OF BUFFALO, NEW YORK.
TOILET-PAD.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented May 16, 1911.
Application filed November 12, 1809. Serial No. 527,697.
To all whom itma/g concern: 7
Be it known that I, J OHN M. G. DARMS, a citizen of the United States, residing at Buffalo, in the county of Erie and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Toilet-Pad, of which the following is a This invention relates to antiseptic covers for water closet seats and its principal object is to provide an inex enslve device of this type which can be fo ded into a comact bundle and thus carried conveniently and others who are compelled ordinarily to use publictoilets. Y
A still further object isto provide a device of this character having simple means whereby it can bereadily placed in position upon the seat.
With these and other objects in view the invention consists of certain novel details of construction and combinations of parts hereinafter more fully described and pointed out in the claim.
In the accompanying drawin the preferred form of the invention has een shown. In said drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view showing the device in position upon a seat Fig. 2' is a view showin the pad rolled into a compact bundle rea y to e placed in a case or pocket. I
Referring to the figures by characters of reference 1 designates the cover which is 'referably made of a suitable waterp'oof e to prevent the lodgment of germs an parasites, the said cover being so shaped as to conform to the outline of a water'closet seat" so that, when it is in position, it will prevent any portion of the seat from coming into contact withthe body.
In order to quickly and securely attach the device to a seat, a series of hooks 2 may be utilized, these hooks being located at desired points adjacent the outer edge of the cover and being preferably attached thereto by means of rivets 3 so that when it is desired to fold the device the hooks can be swung into position between the edges of the cover. A loop 4 may be extended from the cover, the same constituting means whereby {lie device can be hung from a nail or the When it is desired to use the device the hooks are placed. in engagement with the edge portion of the seat and the 'cover is thus he d upon all portions of the seat and serves to kee the body out of contact with the seat. QVhen the device is not in use it can be folded into a very compact package which may be placed within a small antiseptic case on able of being carried Within the pocket;
t is of course to be understood that various changes may be made in the construc-' tion and arrangement of the parts without departin from thespirit or sacrificing any for detachably engaging the edge portion 0 a seat to hold the cover stretched upon the seat.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my own, I have hereto aflixed my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
