Be it known that I, LUDWIG Mmnos, manufacturer, a subject of the Emperor of Russia, residing at No. 118 Geisselstrasse, Cologne-Ehrenfeld, Germany, have invented new and useful Improvements in Apparatus for Delivering Liquids, of which the following is a specification.
The present invention relates to an apparatus for dispensing or delivering liquids, such as disinfectants, detergents, perfumes, medicines, etc.
The new apparatus is not designed merely for dispensing relatively large quantities of liquids, but is adapted for dispensing small, and even very small, quantities, such as is requisite in the case for instance The apparatus can also be employed for corrosive fluids and for such as throw down a sediment.
It consists of a vessel, which may advantageously be connected at the bottom of the reservoir which contains the supply of liquid, the communication between the two being controlled by a valve. The latter is so connected with the liquid-exit and airinlet that alternate opening and closing result, whence premature outflow of the liquid is preventechand steady flow of the delivered liquid in a continuous current insured. For this purpose the body of the valve is linked to a plate sliding over the exit of the vessel, and the link at the same time operates. the lever which actuates the valve of the air-inlet, so that the liquid-exit and air-inlet are opened and closed simultaneously.
In the drawing two practical embodiments of the invention are shown.
Figure 1 is a vertical section of a reservoir fitted with the new device. Fig. 2 is a vertical section showing a modification of the device, on a larger scale.

The latter may be of any suitable shape and size, and is preferably secured direct to the underside of the reservoir bottom I). n is an outlet pipe from the vessel m, while 0 is an air-inlet pipe. The mouths of the pipes 01, 0 are controlled by suitable valves, which are connected with the valve f. In the embodiment illustrated in Fig. 1 this connection is effected. by means of a bar 79, pivoted at one end to the valve f, and at the other end to the slide 9 which controls the mouth of the pipe 01. To insure close shutting of the sliding-valve q, a fillet a preferably presenting lateral guide-pieces, is furnished, below which the slide passes. The air-inlet 0 is controlled by means of a double-armed lever r, fulcrumed to a bracket 25, pendent from the bottom I). The upper end of the lever 1' carries the valve, consisting for example of a rubber ball 8, while the lower end projects through an aperture in the bar 79 and is thus actuated on motion ofthe latter. Any other suitable manner of connecting the lever '1' and bar 7) may, however, be adopted.
The modification shown in Fig. 2 differs from the construction above described only in details. The tension-spring g is replaced by a compression-spring, which rests upon a plate It secured by means of arms 11 to the bottom I) of the reservoir. The slide q, linked to the valve f by means of the bar 79, moves upon a smooth surface, between slidebars 41 or fillets formed with the guide a, whereby a close joint is insured at the mouth of the pipe at even should deposits form on the surface below the slide, and which would otherwise force it upward.
The operation of the apparatus is as follows: When a quantity of liquid is to be delivered from the reservoir 0, the valve f must be open against the action of its spring 9, by pulling the handle 70 of the rod j. The bar 12 will be actuated simultaneously, and the slide 9 thus pushed over the base of the vessel, below the projecting flange of the part a, so that the mouth of the pipe a is tightly closed. 19 in moving will also shift the lower end of the lever 1', until the valve 8 at the opposite end of the latter closes the mouth of the air-pipe 0. Through the aperture e The bar liquid will enter the vessel 1%, until the latter is quite full; its escape is prevented, since the mouths of the pipes n, 0 are closed. If, now, the handle is is released the valve f will close automatically, swing to the action of the spring g, and the mouth of the pipes n, 0 will be opened simultaneously. The liquid in the vessel m will thus flow out in a thin, uniform current.
The new apparatus can be employed for delivering or dispensing liquids of all descriptions, such as disinfectants, detergents, perfumes, medicines, etc., in any desired quantity. The shape of the vessel on, the valve f and the other valves and mechanisms connecting the same can naturally be varied.
Having thus described my invention, I declare that what I claim is g 1. A liquid reservoir, a delivering-vessel communicating therewith and having a liquid-outlet and an air-inlet, a valve controlling the passage of the liquid between the two receptacles, a slide controlling the liquid outlet, and linked to said valve, and a double-armed pivotal lever whose one end is engaged by the link connecting the first said valve and slide, while the other end carries a valve adapted to control said airinlet, substantially as described.
2. A liquid reservoir, a liquid delivery vessel communicating therewith and having a liquid outlet and an air-inlet, a spring actuated valve cont-rolling the passage of the liquid, between-the two vessels, a sliding valve, for controlling the liquid outlet,
