Be it known that I, HAROLD Vosren SILUV, rcsldent of (33 Latour street, in the city and L district of Montreal, in the Province of Que bee, in. the Dominion of Canada, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Seal Price-'lags; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the same.

The invention relates to improvements in seal. price tags, and the object of the invention is to devise a tag of security which will effectively identify the goods and yet be impossible to remove without destruction of the seal portion, and whereby a neat and attractive mark will be the means of attract ing attention to the connnodities, and it consists essentially in a strip of suitable material having a seal, or the representation of a seal, toward one end thereof, and the shorter length beyond the seal turned under, and means for securely fastening the goods in the fold of the strip.

In the drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view of a shoe showing the seal secured to the upper by one of the eyelets at the front opening. Fig. 2 a plan View of the seal tag secured over the edge of the piece of goods and enlarged as compared with Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is a perspective view of the seal tag enlarged as compared with Fig. 1.

Like numerals of reference indicate corresponding parts in each figure.

Referring to the drawings, 1 is a strip of material here shown as formed of paper or linen cloth and having the fold 2 turned under the seal 3, the longer length 4- of the strip 1 being on the upper side for the purpose of writing the price of the goods and other advertising matter. Suitable letterings and markings are also placed on the seal and this seal may be either a separate piece of paper or cloth material superimposed on the strip 1 or simply a printing in different colors of the design required.

5 is an eyelet fastener inserted through the middle of the seal 3 and securing the said seal through the fold 2 firmly to the goods 6, the goods 6 in Fig. 1 being the upper of the shoe, and the eyelet 5 in Fig. 1 being one of the eyelets surrounding a lace hole in said shoe.

Other forms of fastening means may be used and the seal tag may be materially a1- tered as regards the present design, the main features being the folding over of the piece of material on the edge of the goods and securely fastening said piece so that this piece of material containing the trade mark of a firm must be destroyed on removal.

The most coi'lvenicnt form of this tag is herein shown, munely, that: of having a fold under and the description has been confined entirely to that style, but it must be understood that this fold under is not always required because in some goods it may be advisable to use a plain straight tag, therefore, without departing from the spirit of my invention, I insert the fastener through the plain tag, said tag having a seal thereon or being a seal in itself according to the particular design in use.

W hat I claim as my invention is:

1. In a device of the class described, in combination, a tag formed of a strip of ma.- terial having distinctive markings at its free end and folded over at the other end, a seal on the front side of said folded end, a shoe, and an eyelet adjacent to the edge of the upper of said shoe and fastening said tag to said shoe through the said seal and folded end.

2. In a device of the class described, the combination with an article of wearing apparel, of a strip of fabric folded over at one end forming a tag, said tag having distinctive marking thereon and a seal on the face thereof overs-aid folded portion, and a fastcner forming a component part of said article of wearing apparel and a means of gripping said tag to said wearing apparel through the seal and folded portion.
