In the drawings: Figure 1 is a sectional view showing the body portion of the metalfollowing specification lic barrel with a lining material in position, a portion of the lining being broken away to disclose the engaging studs formed on the inner wall of the barrel. One of the features of this invention is to provide a metallic'beer keg with a lining formed of composition or material preferably applied ,when in plastic or'semi-plasticstate and in the means employed to secure and support the lining in position.

Other features of the invention relate to the construction of the barrel itself and will be hereafter referred to.

The lateral-shoulders a are an important feature of the invention as they serve as a bearing surface for the edges of the outer portion of the U-shaped rings C, and receive the end pressure which may be applied to the K receptacle and thereby prevented from being applied to the relatively thin outer edges of the cylindrical portions a and of the flanges b of the heads "B, :and thus preventing any danger of battering or distorting these portions of the device. The inner edges of the annular members it will be'noted bear upon the heads B, and are thereby supported.

' Having thus described my invention, what I claim is 1.: A keg comprising asheet metal body having a shoulder at each end and provided with'internal projections between said shoul-' ders, a lining for said body extending between said shoulders and supported by said projections, heads for the ends of the body, a lining secured to each head, the linings of the body and heads being disposedtin contact with each other when thekeg is assembled, andmeans for securing the heads against accidental displacement.
