Be it known that I, RUDOLPH Hmson, a
citizen of the United States, residing at Kansas City, in the county of Jackson and State of Missouri, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Measuring- Covers for Cans, of which the following is aspecification.
My invention relates to measuring covers for cans. I
It is particularly adapted for usein connection with cans containing baking powder or similar substances.
The object of my invention is to provide a improvements in cover by which the contents of the'can may be delivered therefrom in accurately measured portions.
A further object of myinvention is to provide a cover which need not be removed when material is being taken from the can, which is sanitary in operation and by which moisture and dirt are excluded from the can.
The novel features of my invention are hereinafter fully described and claimed.

The measuring cover comprises an inverted cup-shaped member or cover 2 into the lower open end of which the upper end of the can 1 is adapted to be inserted. The cover 2 is provided with a horizontal partition 3 disposed above and closing the upper end of the can 1. A vertical measuring tube 4, preferably of conical form, extends through the partition 3 and the horizontal top of the cover 2. - In the operation of my invention, the can 1 is inverted, the cap 6first having been rotated to the position shown osition the opening 11 iii the disk 11 will register with the tube 4, and the cap 6 will close the upper end of said tube. Having thus described my invention, what 'I claim and desire to secure by Letters-Patcut, is:
1. A measuring cover for can tops comprising an invert-ed cup sha ed cover adapted to have its 0 en end fitte to a'can to and provided witi a transverse horizonta partition, a vertical measuring tube extending through the cover top and said partition, a cap pivoted to said cover for closing the upper end of said tube, said cap being rotatively mounted on the cover and provided.
with a discharge opening disposed so as to register with the opening through the tube when the cap is rotated to the proper position on the cover, and a horizontal disk disosed below the partition for closing the ower end of said tube, said disk being rota-v table with said cap and provided with a ver- "tical opening disposed in position to register with said tube when the cap is disposed in the roper position, the relative dis osition of t e openings in the cap and disl; being such that they can not both be in register with the tube at the same time.
2. 3. In a measuring cover for can tops, the
