Acoordingto my present invention I fasten the commutator segments securely in position without the use of an external ring and employ a supporting bushing which is similar to those employed in the prior art.

Referring to Fig. 1, a bushing 1, which may lie rigidly attached to the shaft of, a dynamo-electric machine. is provided atone end with an anm'ilarV-shaped projection 12.
An adjustable V-shaped ring- 3 is mounted on the bushing 1 near its opposite end and, to get-her with the V-shaped projection 2, serves to firmly support the ends of a plurality of commutator segments 4. "The segments 4 are assembled in the form of a cylinder and are provided with V-shaped notches 5 and 6 which are, respectively, engaged by a V'- shaped ring 3 and the V-slniped projection 2.
In order to hold the middle of the commutator segments in position, two similar, intermediate adjustable V-shaped'rings 7 and 8 are mounted upon the bushing 1 and respectively engage notches 9 and '10 which are formed in the commutator segments. Holes 11 and 12 are rovid'ed in the intermediate rings 7 and 8 t rough which clamping bolts 13 and 14 may pass and the \f-shaped ring 3 and the projection 2 are also similar openings 15 and 16 in a ineinent with the holes in the intermediate rings. The

Referring to Fig, 2 the commutatorlllust-rated, is similar to thatof Fig. '1 except that the ends of the commutator segments are beveled and supporting rings ,17 and 18 are bolted, respectively, to the V-shaped ring 3 and the projection 2 of the bushing, these rings being provided with annular pr0jections 19 which are adapted'to engage the beveled ends of the commutator segments.
