it is obvious, of'course, that other forms of ties capable of performing the function (is sired may be employed-instead of-the specific device shown and described hereith, and hence my invention is not limited to the'use of any specific form of tying means for securing the rods and spacer together.

1. 7. -.The combination, in a reinforcement for concrete column-constructiomof reinforcing rods orbars, a helically coiled spacing member,' and tying'means connectingsaid spaoingmember and the rods or bars, said tymgmeans com rising a looped member havingsubstantially paralleling runs with ends of unequal length-terminating in hooks, the loop of said member being adapted to engage the continuous spacmgmember while the hooked ends of the tie are arranged to pass around the rod or bars and engage the-spacing member at different points beyond the loop.
