GAME APPARATUS.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented March 16, 1909.
Application filed November 24, 1908. Serial No. 464,313.
Be it known that I, WILBER H. LEvEY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Woodstock, in the county of McHenry and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Game Apparatus, of which the following is a specification.
The object of this invention is to construct a game apparatus in which various marked characters can be used, and in which quoits or horse-shoes are employed.
The further object of this invention is to construct a game apparatus comprising two like boards which may be folded together and connected for carrying or laying away.
In the accompanying drawings, Figures 1 and 2 are erspective views of the two like sections of t e game apparatus suitably separated for playing the game. Fig. 3 is a section through the sections showing them connected. Fig. 4 is an isometrical representation of the sections connected. Fig. 5 is a perspectiveview of a chart provided with suitable markings.
The board comprises the base 1 having a central opening 2. An edging is secured to the base and comprises the side sections 3 and end section 4. The side sections extend one-half the length of the base. A pin 6 is located in the opening 2 in the base. A chart 7 is formed with a central Opening 8 to receive the in and has its face im ressed with suitab e markings as shown liy the numerals thereon.
The game is played with horse-shoes or quoits 9, in this instance out from leather.
Two boards of like construction are employed, and hooks 10 connected to the side sections of one board engage pins 11 extending from the side sections of the other board, and a handle 12 is secured to the end section 4 of one of the boards. As the side sections 3 of the boards are one-half of the length of the" boards, and two boards can be packed as shown in Figs. 3 and 4, and when connected by the hooks and pins, the two boards occu y a little more space than occupied by one oard.
In playing the game the boards are suitably separated and a chart placed on each base. The horse-shoes are thrown on the bases and the counts vary with the markings on the charts. The edgings serve to prevent'the horse-shoes or quoits from landing off the base 1.
This game board will be found very entertaining as an indoor sport especially for children.
I claim as my invention.
1. A game apparatus comprising two like boards, each board comprisin a base, an edging around one end and ha f the length of the sides, a pin held in an upright position in connection with the base, and connections between the side edgings of the two boards.
2. A game board com rising a base, edgings around one end an along the sides of the base, a pin held in an upright position in connection with the base, and a removable chart provided with suitable markings.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand in presence of two subscribing witnesses.
WILBER H. LEVEY.
