The expansion tubes 22 and 25 are made larger than the tubes 21 and 24 so that the steam and hot air will expand and not be directed immediately and directly against the head of the atient. Likewise the hood is provided witi perforations 5() on the upper side above the head of the patient in order to temper the steam and air as it comes in contact with the head. While cloth is'preferably used in the curtain 32, still We do not Wish to be limitedto any particular kindl of porous or perforated or fibrous material.

- Fresh air inlet openings in the tubes' 26 are provided and closed by the doors or plates 60. With these We are enabled to introduce atmospheric airv into-y either tube 26 to -mix with t that it prevents the steam and holds`it suspended.-
