To allwhom it may concern:

Be it known that I, JAMEsO. DAWSON, a citizen of the United States, and resident of the city of St. Louis, State of Missouri, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Loose-Leaf Binders, of which the following is a specification and which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.

The invention relates to loose leaf binders and articularly to such binders wherein a plura ity of filing rods are provided for re-v ceiving the sheets to be bound and in which the covers of the binder are preferably structurally independent of each other, one ofsuch filing rods are permanently mountedadjacent its rear or binding edge. and the other cover being a follower for running on the rods.

The object of theinventionis to provide im roved means for removably securing the fol ower of such binders in any adjusted position upon the filing rods and the invention contemplates a filing rod, a follower runningon the rod and a lever pivotally mounted on the follower and having a yielding cam face for engaging the rod. I claim as my invention 1. In a loose leaf binder in c'ombination, a base, a filing rod rising from the base, a follower running on the rod, and a cam lever pivotally mounted on the follower to bearon the rod, such lever being channeled to permit of a yielding of the cam. I

2. In combination, a filing rod, a follower running on the rod, and a lever pivoted to the contact face and extending substantially parallel thereto, and the 0 en end of the notch being remote from tie point of the initial engagement between the contact face of the lever and the rod.

4. In a loose leaf binder, in combination, a base, a filing rod rising from the base, a follower running on the rod, and a cam lever pivotally mounted on the follower and havmg a yielding engagement with the. rod.
