ROSA KLEIN, OF PITTSBURG, PENNSYLVANIA.
GARMENT-SUPPORT.
Specification lof Letters Patent.

Application filed November 24, 1906. Serial 110.344,86.
ports, and its primary object is to provide a device of this character which will serve as a support for stockings, and also as a suspensory for a catanlenial bandage.
A furtherv obj ect-of the invention is to provide a combination corset and garment support adapted to serve both as a hose sup' porter and a suspending means for a bandage.
The construction of the improvement will befullyv described hereinafter in connection with the accompanying drawing, which forms a part of this speciiication, 'and its novel features will be deiined in the appended claims.
Infthe drawing, Figure 1 is a view in perspective of a combination corset and garment support embodyin theinvention, Fig. 2 is a si V fra mentary rear elevation on an enlarged sca e, Fig. 4 is afragmentary'central longitudinal section of the apron and parts to be connected thereto, Fig. 5 is a front elevation on an enlar ed scale of one end of one of the corset shou der straps, Fig. isa detail'front clevationof a portion of the corset, Fig. 7 is a detail vertical section showing theinanner of securin thel rearA suspensory to thelwaist` band, ig.' 8 is an enlarged elevation of the safety pins employed. The reference numeral 1 designates 'a corset provided with a waist band 2 detachably suspended from the front ofthe corset by straps 2; From the front of the band 2 depends an apron 3, 4and said waist band 2 is continuous in front, .relatively speaking, it
having permanently separated ends located at `the rear, which ends are adapted to be mounted on the opposing side edges of the corset at the rear or lacing portion of the corset. The band, intermediate the apron 3 and the end of the band is divided, the endportions at the point of division being secured by a buckle. This construction lpermit-s of the use of the full equivalent of a completo band, but the securing of the ends, whether dctachably or permanently, to the e elevationof t e same, Fig. 3 is a corset, without affecting the ability to adjust the size of the corset through the lacing, provides a construction in which the position of the waist band will be maintained at the same point, 'and eliminates the liability of the vwaist `band riding upwardlyor moving laterally when tightening the band or under the movements of the wearer.
bandage hereinafter described, the unfastening of the buckle will permit of the bandage being taken off With'the corset, while when the bandage is-used, the unloosening of the 'bandage in front (as is re uired when a separate band is used) and t e unfastening of the buckle, permits of the removal of the co'rset and band `and bandage at the same time. Each' of the ends of the band 2 is providedwith a resilient socket 5 to receive 75 a headed fastener 6, projecting from one of the upper ends of a two-part suspensory 7 carrying a safety pin 8 at its lower end for its attachment to a bandage 9, the front end of which it attached to a suspending strap 10 secured centrally to the apron 3.
From the apron on opposite sides of the 'strap'lO depend'straps 11 provided at their lower endswith suitable fasteners 12 for attaching said stra `s 1'1 to the stockings 13. The corset as s own, is provided with .shoulder straps 14, and with the usual lacing at the back and hook-and eye'structure at lthe front. f The'straps 14 are provided with y eyelets 15 at their front ends to adapt them 90 toengage hooks 16 seWed to the front ofI the corset adjacent to itsupper edge.
. Thentility and advantages of the improvement will bereadily understood from the foregoing descriptionin connection with 95 the'drawing, as it is obvious that the device aifords an inexpensive, v comfortable, and effective article of ap arel.
What I claim and esire to secure by Letters Patent, is;l f.
The combinatlonuwith a corset and shoulder straps for suspending the same, vof a waist band so disposed with respect to the *corset as to provide aVv continuous portion at the front of the corset, said band havingseparatedA end portions, vmeans for detachably connecting the ends of the band to the bottom of the rear of the lacing edges of the corset, ai plurality of V-shaped strips secured to and depending from the front of the corset and surrounding the front portion of the band for detachably suspending the same,
Furthermore, when the band is used without the an apron secured to end depending from the detaohably securing the forward end of the front edge of the forward portion of the bandage to the suspension device. l0 band, stocking supporters secured to the In testimony whereof I affix my signature lower edge of the apron, a two part bandage in the presence of two witnesses.
having its rear end detachably secured to the ROSA KLEIN.
rear ends o'f said band, a suspension device Witnesses:
