To an whom it may concern Be it known that I, Jo n: MoGovERnN, of New York, in the county of New York, and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Improvement, in Breech-Loading Pistols; and I do hereby declare.

that the 'following'is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part of this specification.

arecess in the stock under the barrel, so as to bear with its free end on the said lip B, while its other end is secured to the stock at the rear end of the recess by a rivet, or screw, D.

This arrangement affords a very simple and cheap construction, the operation 'of which will be readily understood without further description.

Having thus described my invention,

I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The combination, with the barrel and the stock, of the spring 0, when arranged to act upon the lip B of scribed.
