The object of this invention yis to )revent the removal of the contents and otherwise tempering with the envelop; end for this purpose the invention consists of im envelop com rising a. front-portion, it rear-portion eque Ain size with the front-portion und provided with gummed side-flops und gunnned corner-extensions, the renr-llnp vbeing provided with e gummed portion ut its upper edge and short lateral corner-extensions.in line therewith, as will be full y described hereinafter and finally pointed out in the claim.

The improved envelop 1s made from the blank shown in Fig. 4, which consists of o front-portion a, o rear portion b of the some size as the front-portion, gummed side-flops (L at each side ofthe main portion a., sind side-naps being of less Width than the ineinportion and provided with short extensions o2 at theirlowver ends, `which extensions are :ilse gummed et their inside. Alonfr the lower edge of the reer-portion b of the blank is arranged n nnrrow llep il, which is pro'- vided with short lnterzil extensions (Z1 of equal length in line therewith, seid llzip cl und extensions d* being `gummed throughout their entire length, so that when the envelop is to be Closed for use, the rear-portion is folded along the dotted line a', the gununed llupd is folded over the upper edge of the fronbportion und the extensions d* around the upper corners of the someI over the reorportion, es shown in Figs. 1 and 2. The postage stamp is plneed in the usual position, et the upper right hond corner of the envelop ns shown in dotted lines in Fig. 1, so es to extend over the. longitudinal flap d und be torn when opening the same with a palper-knife.

Hoving thus described my invention, I claim :is new and desire to secure by Letters Patent:
A safety-envelop eolnprising o front portion, n. rein` portion having ungummed sideedges without Hops, gutnmed side-flaps car- .ried by the front ortion, a gummed longitudinal flap corrie( by the rearortion and extendixig along the upper edge t ereof, said flap being adopted to fold over the upper edge of the front-portion, and short lateral extensions of equal length formed on said longitudinal flap et the ends thereof and adopted to be folded over on and secured to seid rear portion at its upper corners.
