Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of NewYork, have invented certain new and Y useful rovernents in Garment-Hangers,

offwhich t e following is a specification, such as will enable those, skilledin the art to which it a pertains to make and use the same.

s invention relates to devices for han ing or suspending garments of various kin( s and classes in a Wardrobe, closet or other place; and the object thereof is to provide an Improved device of this class which in addi* tion to being adapted for usein the manner of similar'devlces, or devices of a similar character, is also designed as a receptacle or container for moth balls or other material used for the purpose of preventing ordestro` ing moths, moth germs and the like.

and in practice the chamber formed by the tube or tubes from which the device is made may be filled with moth balls or othersuitable moth or insect'v destro ing material through said apertures, which atter may be closed by the sleeves d2.

It is customary, in order to prevent the dcstruction of garments and various, other articles by moths or similar insects in a wardrobe, closet or similar receptacle used as a hanging or storagel place, to place or suspend therein, in various ways,-moth balls or similar material, but the various means employed for this -purpose have heretofore een impractical ,or inconvenient; butby means of my -invention l I' provide a garment hanger of the usual i`orm, so made as to serve as a receptacle for moth balls or similar material, and by means of which the said material ma be placed or deposited in the most practicaland useful manner in order to accomplish the desired result, and in practice the garments' are, suspended from or by the lhanger in the usual manner, and by means o the perforations in the tubular or hollow parts or members of the hanger the odor from the mothv balls or similar material is freely distributed through the garments or other articles, which latter are thus givenl the highest de ree of protection.

Having ully described my invention, what l claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is ;-A

1. A bow-shaped garment hanger composed of a tube, the Walls of which are perfon rated, said garment hanger being provided .centrally With a suspending hook, and said' tube forming a chamber adapted to receive mothballs or other insect destroying material and being provided adjacent to said hook with an laperture through which said balls or other material may be passed, and means for closing said aperture.

2. A bow-.shaped garment hanger' composed of a perforated tube provided centrally with a suspending hook and adjacent to said hook with au aperture through which mothballs or other insect destroying material may be passed and. a sleeve movable thereon for closing said aperture.
