To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, WILLIAM E. DEPr,-a residing at Brookville, in the county of Jefierson' and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and useful Shipping-Box, of which. the following is a SPGOlfiCMJiOIL i The invention relates to improvements in shipping boxes.

e object of thepresent invention is to improve theconstruction of shipping boxes, and to rovide a simple, inexpensive and efficient ox of great strength and durability, designed for holding various kinds of merchandise and ada ted to ventilate the same,

Havin thus fully described mymvention, what I c aim as new and desire to'secure by. Letters Patent, is:

A folding box or' crate comprising-a. bottom, sides and ends hinged to the bottoman'd foldable inwardly thereon and composed of framesand woven wire fabric secured to the inner faces of the frames andforming extebottom, and an integral lip formed by bender end of the bodyportion 1nwardly an extending into the recess of the adj acent end of the crate whenthe'latter is arranged for use, said body portionbeingjof a length to permit the lip to engage-the upper ing the up face of the cover when the box or crate is folded, whereby the parts are; retained in their folded position; and avertical side catch consisting of a single 'iece of resilient sheet metal connected at its ower end with a bottom and having its upper end bent inwardly, and arranged to en age the coverof the-box or crate when the atter is arranged for use.
