HALVOR A. LEE, OF MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA SEWING-IMPLEMENT HOLDER.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Oct. 8, 1907.
Application filed March 21,1907. Serial No. 363,598-
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HALVOR A. LEE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Minneapolis, in the county of Hennepin and State of Minnesota, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in a Sewing- Implement Holder; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
My invention relates to sewing implement holders, and has'for its object to improve the same in the several particulars hereinafter noted.
The invention consists of the novel'devices and combinations of devices hereinafter described and defined in the claims.
The invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein like characters indicate like parts throughout the several views.
Referring to the drawings, Figure 1 is a plan view of the sewing implement holder; and Fig. 2 is a view in side elevation of the same, with some parts broken away and others sectioned.
The sewing implement holder is in the form of a wheel mounted to rotate on a vertical standard.
The numeral 1 indicates the rim of the wheel, 2 the spokes and 3 the hub. The hub 3 is mounted for rotation on a short vertical shaft 4 provided with a suitable base or support 5. The hub 3 rests upon a flange 6 formed at the junction of the shaft 4 and the base 5. Said hub is held against vertical movement by a cap 7 having screw threaded engagement with the upper end of the shaft 4.
The cap 7 is provided with a finger piece 8 for the purpose of carrying the device from place to place. Secured to the upper surface of the rim 1 are a number of laterally spaced and vertically projecting spool supporting pins or studs 9. The spools are indicated by the character Z, only two of which are shown.
Scissors supporting devices 10, as shown four in number, are secured to the outside rim by rivets and are provided with slots 11 through which the blades of the scissors may be passed. A pin cushion 12 supported by the spokes 2 is held in place by the cap 7.
The device described, while of small cost and easily constructed, has been found very efficient for the purposes had in view.
What I claim is:-
In a device of the kind described, the combination with a vertical shaft having a base, of a rotary hub mounted on the upper end-of said vertical shaft, a wheel-like rim,
spokes connecting said rim to said hub, vertical spoo1- supporting pins and scissor supporting devices carried by said rim, and a pin-cushion carried by and resting upon said spokes and located at the axis of the wheel rim, substantially as described.
In testimony whereof I aifix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
HALVOR A. LEE.
