'The object of the invention is to provide a simple and inexpensive device of this character, which may be securely locked or'sealed,
so that its contents can only be reached by tearing it open. v
The above and other objects, which will appear as 4the nature of my invention is better understood, are accomplished by means of the construction illustrated in the accompanying drawings ,in which Figure 1 is a plan view of the blank from which the improved envelope is made; Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the envelope showing it partially open, ready to receive its contents; Fig. 3 is a central transverse sectional view through the same in the position shown in Fig. 2; Fig. 4 isy a similar view,
taken in a plane adjacent to fone of the ends -of the envelop; Fig. 5 is a longitudinal sec- 35 tional view; Fig. 6 is a central transverse sectional view, showing, the envelope locked or sealed; and Fig. 7 is a detail section on ,an enlarged scale of one of the selfflocking fasteners.
The envelope is made from the single blank lshown in Fig. 1 of the drawings, and mav be composed of any suitable material. The blank comprises a front portionn 1, a back portion'2, two flaps 3, which are adapted-to form a central partition in the envelope, and a sealing or locking flap 4. The parts 1, 3, A3, 4, are dis osed at the sides andends lof the back 2 an are adapted to be folded over upon the same along the dotted lines shownl in Fig. 1. The flaps 3 are substantially recltangular in form and of such length as to overlap each other, as shown at 5, when folded over uponV the back 2 to form a central partition in the envelope. These flaps are adapted to have theiroverlapping ends pasted or otherwise united, and at their bottom edges are formed sea' adapted to be bentaleng the dotted linos vshown in Fi 1, and to bepasted upon the inner face o the back 2, asseen in Figs.3 and4. The front 1 has at its ends sealing iaps 7, adapted to be bent over u on the dotted lines shown' in Fig. 1, an to be sealed upon the outer face of thev baek 2, as shown inFig. 5. Along the free longitudinal edge of the front 1 is formed a re-enforcing band hng flaps 6,
8, which is separated fromthe front by a slot 9, which extends between oints adjacent to the ends of the same, so t at the band 8 is only connected to the .front 1 by two necks 10. The band 8 is ada ted to be folded over upon the inner face o the central partition formed by the .flaps 3 and to be asted thereto after the members 11 of selfocking fasteners have been passed through` or secured in the s'aid artition adjacent to its upper free edge. T e fastening members 11 are adapted to be engaged bycoacting members 12, which are carried by a similar band upon' the sealing and locking flap 4, which latter is adapted to be inserted between the'outer face of the artition and the inner-face of the front 1.
