IMPROVED SHOEMAKERS BENCH.

To all whom fit may concern:

Be it kno'wn' that we, DAVID FIsK and JOHN M. BLODGETT, of Clyde, in the county ofWayn e, and State of N ew York, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Shoemaker-s Bench; and we do hereby'declare that the followingis a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable those skilled in the vart'to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings-`formiug part of this specification, in which v Figure l is a sectional front View of our invention, and f Figure 2 is a plan view of the same;

This 'invention consists in providing a shoemakes work-bench with a revolving seat, to turn freely with the frequent movements ofthe workman, thereby making his labor more easy and agreeable;`and also in constructingthe legs of said benches so that they-can be readily detached for transportation; and also in making the legs adjustable in length, soV that the bench will accommodate itself to the properheight'for any individual, without change in the construction, as hereinaitermore fully described. In the accompanying drawings, A a is the bench, which is made' in the usual form generally, and is mounted on legs, D, which have necks cut in them, to form heads fon their upper ends, as shown in iig. 1, and these heads-are fitted into corresponding recesses inthe sides of the bench, in suchv manner as to be detached at any time, and placed within the body A, to make the bench a snug package fortransportation, for storing away, 86o.

On the lower ends of the legs are fitted adjustable sleeves d, which are set by means of pins or set-screws e, to shorten or lengthen the legs, and thereby regulate the height of the bench;

The seat a is provided with a rotating seat, B,Which is secured to the bench by a central pivot, b, and mounted von anti-friction rollers c-c.

We have given this-seat a practical test of more than a year, and those who have used it regard it as a very desirable improvement/,as it adds materially to the freedom and comfort of the workman.

As an improved article of manufacture, the shoemakers bench A a, with rotating seat'B, and also the detachable and adjustable legs .D f d, substantially as set forth.
