My in rention relates particularly to loosca fixedlysceured to the rock-shafts a nd haviea binders for use in connection with pricehooks, notv-boohs, and lhelike, and my primnry object is to provide a hinder of tins set or riveted to form the connections. The rocleshafts preferably comprise smoll circular resilient: rods. The prongs may be of any suitable iorm. One member ol each pair of prongs is prefe ably provided with a reduced extremity received by a socket in the end of the other member of the pair. In the open condition of the hinder (shown in Fig. 5) the rock-shafts are parallel and not under flexure. ln this condition, also, the

What I regard as new, and desire to secure 5 by Letters Patent, is
1. A binder comprising a pair of rockshafts, inipaling-prongs carried by said rock- I shafts, members connecting said rock-shafts, 3
and a toggle-joint operating to produce lexure of the rock-shafts, for the purpose set forth.
2. A binder comprising a pair of end members, a pair of rock-shafts pivot-ally connected therewith, in1j)alingpr0ngs carried by said rock-shafts, ann a toggle-joint connecting the rock-shafts between said end members and operating to produce flexure of the rockshefts, for the purpose set forth.
3. A binder comprisin end members, a pair of rocleshaits pivotal y connected therethe rock-shafts and of greater length than the normal distance between the rockshafts in the open condition of the binder, said arms operating to sring the rock-shafts durin the operation 0' closing the binder.
5. A binder comprising end members, a pair of rock-shafts pivotally connected therewith and equipped with prongs, and atog lel joint connecting said rock-shafts between with, prongs carried by said rock-shafts, and j pair of arms rigidly connected with the rock-shafts and having engaging ends located 5 above the plane of the axes of the rock-shafts in the open condition of thebinder, said arms adapted to spring, the rock-shafts when the binder is closed, for the purpose set forth.
