Description

H. H. SBVERIJN. COMBINED TWEEZERS AND BLAGKHEAD REMOVBR.
APPLICATION FILED DEG. 7. 1905.
PATENTBD OCT. 30, 1906.
UNITED STATES PATENT oFFIon HENRY H. SEVERIN, OF SPRINGFIELD, MASSACHUSETTS.
COIVIBINED TWEEZERS AND BLACKHEAD-REMOVER.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Oct. 30, 1906.
Application filed December 7, 1905. Serial No. 290,347.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HENRY H. SEVERIN, a
' citizen of the United States of America, and
a resident of Springfield, in the county of I-la mpden and State of Massachusetts, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Combined Tweezers and Blackhead-Rmovers, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
The object of this invention is to combine in one instrument both a tweezers or pincers and a member available for the easy and effectual removal of blackheads from the skin, the purpose in the provision of the latter feature of the device being to make it possible to attain a pressure on the face or other part of the person which is concentrated about the filled-in pore or blackhead, whereby such accumulation or blackhead may readily be caused to exude or be crowded from within the skin, and particularly without irritation and discomfort to a considerable area of the skin about the seat of the blackhead.
This device is particularly useful in tonsorial establishments and is an instrument Which may be utilized with much convenience and satisfaction by nearly every person.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view of the instrument. Fig. 2 is an edge view of the same. Fig. 3 is an edge view and partial section, somewhat enlarged, of the shank portion of thetweezers and the extension comprising'the blackhead-remover; and Fig. 4 is a face or plan view of the parts represented in Fig. 3.
Similar characters of reference indicate corres ondmg parts in all of the views.
Gne of the tweezer members has its shank portion made with a rearward endwise extension d, which is sli htl angular, as shown, to the general length 0 the tweezers, and this extension at its extremity is provided with a round transverse perforation f and has the metal at one side of such extension around said perforation transversely d1splaced, forming an annular boss or bearingrib g, whereby a concentrated pressure against the flesh closely around the blackhead may be exerted to result in the forcing of the filled-in pore or accumulation making the blackhead to the exterior of the skin.
The making of the extension (I slightly an gular to the length of the tweezers enables a more convenient employment of the instrument for its intended purpose.
I claim- 1. A tweezers having an extension at and from the shank or rear portion thereof but slightly angularly to the shank portion and constructed with a transverse perforation a margin of which is surrounded by an annular rib or boss.
2. .A tweezers comprising two tweezer blades or members united at their shank portions as usual, and one of such members being extended endwise rearwardly beyond the place of its union with the other member, and formed at its extremity'with a smalltransverse aperture, and having at its under side an annular rib or boss around the margin of said aperture.
3. A tweezers comprising two tweezer blades or members united at their shank portions, one of such members being extended endwise rearwardly beyond the place of connection with the other member, arranged slightly angular to the general length of the tweezers, and provided at its extremity with a round transverse perforation and having the metal at one side of such extension, around. said perforation transversely displaced and forming an annular rib or boss HENRY H. SEVERIN.
