standards or rear legs 1 1, the arms 2 2, and the braces 4 4. The'arms or bars 2 2 are pivoted in respective clips 3 3 and are adapted to be lfolded against the upper end of the standards or legs. The braces have their upperends pivoted to res ective arms by rivets 5 at oints near the orward ends thereof, and t eir lower ends are pivoted upon clips or sleeves 6 6, that are slidable upon the lower parts of respective standards 1 1. The sleeves 6 6 arestopped by fixed clips or collars 1 1 1 1 on the lower ends of the standards, and it is obvious that when t-he arms are in the position shown in the drawings the structure will support considerable weight. AThe lowerends yof the standards contain or are provided with rubber feet 29, which prevent the marring of the bottom ofthe larger chair. The standards or rear legs 11 are-,preferabl tubes, and in these I arrange the Shanks of ty e rubber-covered hooks 30. The Shanks are adjustable in the standards and when the hooks have been pressed down over the backl of a chair may be securedby the thumbscrews shown at the upperend of the'stand ards. The hooks do not sustain the weight of the folding chair, but prevent the latter from tipping forwardv or sidewise on the larger chair. The lower ends of the standards are -held apart by a collapsible bar 7 7, comprising parts 8 8, joined by'a pivot 9 and having their ends attached to the collars 11 by ivots 10. The arrangement is such that W en distended the pivot 9 drops below the pivots 10 to prevent the accidental collapse of the bar.

The upper ends of the standards need not be held apart andare merely oined by a cord or fabric having loo s or eyes 19 fastened on theshanks of the liooks 30. The chair is provided with a detachable table 12, resting "on the arms 2 2.

To at once secure the table in place and afford the re uisite rigidity to the chair, I provide the ta le 12 with two metallic parts 13 13. These form sockets for the ends of the arms 2 2.-- The. table'issecured orv locked in place by two spring-latches 14 14, preferably extending through the socket-pieces 18 and ladapted to drop into notches in thc arms.

The ends of the arms are rounded or beveled to lift the latches as the table is pushed onto them. The latches 14 must be sprung up before the table can be lifted from the arms. Two essential members or elements of the IOC - foldable side frames which comprise the side frameconsist in hangers 22 22, having holes 21 21 at their lower ends. T hese hangers are pivoted on the rivets 5 5 and may be thrown into line with the arms, as shown in Fig. 2. Their backward movement is limited by lugs or stops 23 on the braces 4. The chair back and bottom are suspended between the cord 18 and the lower ends of the hangers 22 22. As a means of attaching the forward end of the seat to said hangers I preferably employ a cross-rod 21. One end of the rod has a groove and shoulder 25` detachably holding it in the hanger 22. The other end ofthe rod has a knob 24 and is bent, as at 25, so that the rod may be thrown with the side frame members to facilitate folding the chair. It is obvious, however, that the rod may be withdrawn from both hangers at such times, if desired.

As a back and bottom for the folding chair and also to serve as a wrapper for the frame thereof I employ a sheet of cloth 17, having open plaits, which accommodate the cord 18 and the rod 21. It is obvious that the cloth may be removed from the latter and when thus removed may be used for wrapping the collapsed members of the chair. the ends 26 27 of the cloth making neat ends for the package and being secured by the cords 28 28, as shown in Fig. 3.

As various modifications of the structure herein shown will readily suggest themselves to one skilled in the art, I do not confine my invention. to the specific construction herein shown and described.

Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- 1. In a device of the class described-two l legs having adjustable hooks at their upper ends, and provided with feet or cushions at their lower ends, in combination with arms having their ends pivoted upon said legs midway thereof, braces having their upper ends pivoted near the free ends of said arms and their lower ends slidable on said legs, stops on the legs for said braces, a table detachably held upon and bracing said arms, and a seat suspended from the forward ends of said arms and the upper ends of said legs, substantially as described.

2. In a device of the class described, two foldable sides, each comprising one leg, one arm and one brace and each provided with a hanger, a table detacliably secured on said arms, and a seat adjustably suspended from the tops of said legs and the lower ends of said hangers, substantially as described.

3. In a device of the class described, two legs adapted to rest on a chair-bottom and foldable arms projecting therefrom, means extending between respective legs and arms for supporting the latter, hangers, 22, depending from said arms, a table slidably attached to the free ends of said arms, and a seat suspended from said legs and having its forward edge detachably connected with said hangers, substantially as described.

4. In a device-of the class described, two collapsibly-connected and individually-foldable side frames, including arms having notched forward ends, a detachable seat suspended between said side frames, and a table having latches and sockets litting the notched ends of said arms, substantially as described.

5. A device of the class described, comprising, in combination, legs, 1 1, having adjustable hooks at their upper ends, arms, 2 2, pivoted on said legs, pivotal braces, 4 4, having their lower ends slidable on said legs, hangers, 22 22, pivoted on said arms, and having holes in their free ends, a collapsible brace extending between the lower ends of said legs, and a scat flexibly attached to the upper ends of said legs, and at its lower end having fastenings detachably held in the holes in said hangers, substantially as described.

6. In a device of the class described, two legs, 1 1, having adjustable hooks upon their ends, in combination with arms, 2 2, pivoted to respective legs, hangers, 22 22, depending from said arms, suitable collapsible supports joining the free ends of said arms to said legs, a seat detachably secured to the said hangers and to said legs, and a table, 12, having parallel sockets to receive the'free ends of said arm, substantially as described.

7. In a device of the class described, two legs, 1 1, having cushions at their lower ends,

in combination with hooks, 30, having shanks slidable in said legs, arms, 2 2, pivoted upon respective legs, collapsible braces, 4 4 extending between respective arms and legs, a table detachably secured on the free ends of said arms, and a cloth seat suspended from the forward ends of said arms and from the tops of said legs, and adapted to enfold the parts named when collapsed, substantially as described.
