To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, GEORGE E. Pins, a. citizen of the United States, residing at Warwick, in the county of Orange and State of New York.

I lowing is a specification.

My invention relates to certain new and useful improvement-sin milk-cans, and has for its object to provide a handle so constructed that all liability of the handle pulling ofi is prevented.

Another object of my invention is to provide a milk-can surrounded by a band carrying the handles, so that all danger of the handle pulling off accidentally after being put in place is prevented, and at the same time forming a protection to the can so that the cans will not become-dented, as now is the case when they are shipped. Another obgect of my invention 1s to provide a handle in connection with the can,

formed of two members hinged together so that it can be easily and quickly removed when desired.

With these objects in View the invention consists of the novel features of construction and combination of parts hereinafter fully described, and pointed out in the cleims.

Referring to the drawings, 1 designates the can of the ordinary construction, to the upper end of which is secured a band 2, having a hoop 2 secured to the upper edge of thebsnd, so as torelieve the solder over the bend and to form a. protection for the cons so as to prevent them from being dented by bumping up against one another when being shipped, and by shrinking this hoop on the band it makes it almost impossible for the band to be pulled off.
