Description

No. 827,256. PATBNTED JULY al, 1.906.`
` c. Wl MOORE. y CURTAIN SHADE FIXTURE. PPLIUTION FILED SBPT19, 1905.
Numdam:
UNITED STATES ,PAT-ENT'- OFFICE.
CHARLES WILBUEMOOEE, or Sr. Louis, MISSOURI.
f CURTAIN-SHADE FIXTURE. n
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CHARLES WILBUR MOORE, a citizenpf the United States, residing at St. Louis, in the State of Missouri,\have invented new arid useful Improvements in Curtain-Shade Fixtures, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to curtain-shade iixtures, and has for its object to produce a comparatively simple inexpensive device of this character which will properly support the curtain and shade rollers, one of which may be readily adjusted for rollers of varying lengths and one which may be firmly attached to and without marring the woodwork of the window-frame.
With these and other objects in view the invention comprises the novel features of construction and combination of parts more fully hereinafter described.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a front elevation of the device embodying the invention and showing the same mounted for use. Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the iixture. Fig. 3 is a perspective view of the upper clamping member. Fig. 4 is a similar view of the lower clamping member.
Referring to the drawings, 1 designates a window, and 2 its frame, these parts, which are conventionally shown herein, being of the usual or any appropriate construction and material and designed in practice to perform their ordinary functions.
The fixture `3 embodying the invention comprises, as seen in Fig. 2, a horizontal guide member or bar 4, having adjustably mounted thereon bracket members or heads 5, adapted to be xed in place by means of clamping members or screws 6, these brackets being each equipped with'a curtain-polesupporting arm 7, having a pole-receiving recess8, an with a horizontal projecting ear 9, perforated at 10 to receive the pin of a shaderoller, it being noted that the perforation 10 of one of the brackets is round, while the other is square, as usual. n
For attaching the bar 4 to the windowframe I employ a pair of cooperating clamping members 11 and 12, having vertical overlapplnrg portions,y each provided with a series e orations 13, there being formed on sai clamping members lhorizontal portions 14 and 15, designed to engage, respectively,

above and below the top portion of the frame 2, while formed at the inner edge 0f vthe p0rtion 15 are terminally-upturned spurs or teeth 16, designed to enter and be embedded in the material of the window-frame. The bar 4 is attached to the clamping members by a fastening member or screw 17 engaged through the perforations 13 and Serving the further function of connecting the clamping members in coperative active relation, it being noted that by the provision of a plurality of perforations 13 in each of the clamping members the latter may be readily adjusted to accord with the width of the windowframe, f
In practice the fixture is attached to the frame'2 by means of the .clamping members 11 12, which are securely engaged with the l frame by means of the spurs 16 and a pair of set-screws 18, engaged through the horizontal portion 14 of the member 11. After the fixture has been applied the bracket-heads 5 are appropriately ad'usted to accord with the length of the sha e-roller and thereafter fixed against movement by means of the clamping-screw 6, after which the shaderoller and curtain-pole are properly engaged with the fixture, as will be readily understood.
From the foregoing it is apparent that I produce a comparatively simple inexpensive device admirably adapted for the attainment of the ends in view, it being understood that minor changes in the details herein set forth may beV resorted to without departing from the spirit of the invention.
Having thu's described my invention, -what I claim as new is- 1. A curtain-fixture comprisin a guidebar, bracket members longitudina ly adjustable on opposite extremities thereof, a pair of vertically-adjustable clamping members adapted for engagement with a windowframe and to which the intermediate portion of the bar is applied, the bar being also movable vertically with respect to the clamping members, and means for holding the bar and the clamping members in positive position with relation to each other.
2. A curtain-fixture comprising a guidebar, brackets longitudinally adjustable on' op osite extremities of the bar, means for ho ding the brackets against movement, a
