Description

No. 795,308. PATENTED JULY 25, 1905. A. REZNIGEK. PASTENER FOR ATTAGHING LOOPS AND BUGKLBS T0 BELTS, STRAPS, GOLLAR'S, 8w.

aw: yww W 8y M174 m A TTOH/VE UNITED STATES PATENT OFFIOE.
ANTON REZNICEK, OF JERSEY CITY, NEIV JERSEY, ASSIGNOR OF ONE- HALF TO R. S. ROSENBERG, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
FASTENER FOR ATTACHING LOOPS AND BUCKLES TO B ELTS, STRAPS, COLLARS, &c.
To all whom it Wmy concern:
Be it known that I, ANTON REZNIOEK, a citi- Zen of the United States, and a resident of Jersey City, county of Hudson, and State of New Jersey, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Fasteners for Attaching Loops and Buckles to Belts, Straps, (Jollars, &c., of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to a fastening device adapted to fasten loops and buckles to belts, straps, collars, &c., and also to provide means for holding the belt in place when being worn by any person.
In the accompanying drawings, which show the preferred form of manufacturing belts under my invention, like letters designate similar parts.
Figure 1 represents a belt with my invention applied thereto. Fig. 2 represents a part of the belt, showing the loops, the buckle, and the device for holding the belt in position upon the wearer, also the fastening device for attaching the same to the belt. Fig. 3 represents the reverse side of Fig. 2. Fig. 4 is a side view of Fig. 2. Fig. 5 is a cross-section taken on the lines I I of Figs. 2 and 3.
Referring to the accompanying drawings, A represents the leather of which the belt is made; B, the loops, preferably made of metal or leather, for holding the surplus end of the belt in place.
O is the buckle, and Or is the device for holding the belt in position upon the Wearers body.
My invention consists of a device to fasten the loops and the buckle to the belt or the leather portion of the belt. To do this, I provide a metal strip D of any suitable shape, but preferably of the shape shown in the drawings. Into this strip of metal and near one end of it I put a hole (Z. Through this holeI insert the tongue 0 of the buckle and then bend the metal strip around that part of the perimeter of the buckle on which the tongue is supported until that end of the metal strip D is parallel with the other end of the metal strip D. I then place the leather A between the parallel portions of the metal strip D close up to the frame O of the buckle (see Fig. 4.) and then rivet the leather A in place between the Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented July 25, 1905.
metal strip D D by rivet E. The free end of the metal strip is bent so as to conform to the shape of the loops B B, as is shown at F F in Fig. 4, so as to hold the loops B B securely in position, and then the free end of the metallic strip D D is riveted at z I have also provided an attachment for holding the belt in position, which consists of the plate Gr, preferably made in the shape shown in Fig. 3, so that the ends g y can be bent over and underneath the plate D D, as shown in Fig. 5, and riveted or otherwise secured thereto. so as to form a hook H, which hook is intended to catch into the clothes of the wearer and hold the belt in position.
Having now described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
1. The combination with a belt, a buckle and loops for holding the surplus end of the belt, of a metallic strip embracing a portion of the buckle and the loops, said metallic strip being securely fastened to the belt, and a hook adapted to be connected to the metallic strip and adapted to engage in the clothes of the wearer, substantially as set forth.
2. A fastening device adapted to secure a loop for holding the surplus end of the belt and a buckle to a belt consisting of a metallic strip embracing a portion of the said loop and buckle and having a portion of said strip adapted to engage in the clothes of the wearer to hold the belt in position, said strip being secured to the belt substantially as set forth.
3. In a fastening device adapted to secure a loop and buckle to a belt consisting of a metallic strip embracing a portion of the buckle and a hook adapted to prevent said belt from slipping, said hook being secured to said metallic strip and said metallic strip being riveted to the belt substantially as set forth.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
ANTON REZNIOEK.
