IMPROVE!) BLIND-SLAT FASTENING.
To ALL WHOM IT MAY GoNeEnN Be it known that I, JAMES M. Piemon. of Mokena, in the county o'Wili, and State of Illinois, hnveinvenbedI a. new and useful Improvement for Fastenlng Blind-Slate, to prevent them from being opened from the outside" when closed; and IV do hereby declare that the following is a. full, clear, and exaet description of the construe# tion and operation ofthe same, reference being had to the annexed drawings, making a. part of vthis specification, in whichl Figure 1 is a. View ofthe fastener or button for blind-slats.
A shows the upper endof the fastener, which is set firmly against the lower end of the cross-harto the slats. It is then screwed to the bottom-piece ofthe blind at B. The pin D is inserted, or the spring E is used;
or its equivalent, to prevent the fastener from being moved on the outside.
To open the slats, draw the pin D or raise the spring E, and turn the fastener to one side, which leaves the slats free to move. Y
The fastener can bemade of iron or other metal, or of wood, and therebysecuro the slats and blinds from being opened from the outside. l
