' Be-it' known that I, ALFRED A. BOISMAURE, a citizen of-tthe United States, residing at New Yorkj i-n' the county of New York and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful ,Improyements in Jewelry-Mountings, of which the following is a specification, such as will enable those skilled in the art to which it appertain's to make and use the same.

The object of this invention is to provide a mounting for jewels or other ornaments comprising a base, frame, or support, aorystal or other transparent or translucent front member, and a vibratory member resiliently connected with the base, frame, or support rearwardly of the stationary crystal transparent or translucent front member; and with this and other objects in View the invention consists in a jewelry-mounting constructed as hereinafter described and claimed.

The invention is fully disclosed in the following specification, of which the accompanying drawings form a part, in which the separate parts of my improvement are designated by suitable reference characters in each of the views, and in which Figure l is a sectional side view of my improved jewelry-mounting; Fig. 2, a back view thereof; Fig. 3, a section on the line 3 3 of Fig. 1; and Fig. 4, a view similarto Fig. 1, but showing a modification.

In the practice of my invention as shown in the drawings I provide an ordinary stickpin a, the larger end of whichis bent to form a hook member a which is provided with an annular frame or support a rigidly secured thereto or formed integrally therewith and supported parallel with the pin a, and which is also provided at the back with an openwork cross member (0*. In the opposite end of the open-work cross member a of the annular frame or support a are cylindrical at tachments Z2, secured to or formed integrally with the frame or support a and inclosing the annular frame or support a is a band 0, preferably provided with perforations c and in which is placed a crystal or other transparent or translucent member 03, between which and the frame or support a is placed 2.

vibratory member 0, which is resiliently connected with the said frame or support in the following manner: The vibratory member 6 is provided at its opposite sides and at the back thereof with hollow cylindrical members 6 which extend backward ly through the end portions of thetransverse open-work member a of the annular frame or support a? and which inclose the cylindrical attachments Z), and said cylindrical attachments are each provided with an inwardly-directed pin f, on each of which is placed a spiral spring g, and one end of each of the springs 91 is secured to the corresponding pin f and the other end to the corresponding hollow cylindrical member 6 As thus supported it will be seen that the vibratory member 6 is supported on the. cylindrical attachments b, which are inclosed by the hollow cylindrical members 6 and the connection between these parts is made by means of the springs g, and these constitute a resilient connection, by reason of which the member 6' is kept in a constant state of vibration no matter in what position the mounting may be held.

It will be understood that the member e may be composed of any desired material or it may serve as a setting for jewels or other ornaments, and the. constant vibration of this member as seen through the stationary crystal or transparent front piece at produces abrilliant and attractive effect, the character of which will vary according to the character of the vibratory membere or the jewel or other ornament or ornaments supported thereby.

In Fig. 4 I have shown a modification in which the pin a or the crooked end portion a thereof is provided with an annular support it, which is held parallel with the pin a and with which is connected a band i, similar to the band 0 in Figs. 1 and 3, and in which is placed the crystal, transparent, or translucent member d. In this form of'construction cylindrical attachments j are employed similar to cylindrical attachments Z), (shown in Figs. 1 and 2,) and the vibratory member k (shown in this figure) is provided with a single backwardly-extended tubular casing or hollow cylindrical member F, and the cylindrical attachments j are provided with a pin m, on

which is placed a spiral spring a, one end of which is secured to the said pin and the other to the tubular or cylindrical casing 70 of the vibratory member 70. With this form of construction the result will be substantially the same as with the construction shown in Figs. 1 and 3, the vibratory member it being resiliently connected with the stationary parts or support of the device.

It Will be apparent that the pin a forms no essential part of this invention, as the device may be made in the form of abrooch or similar device, all that is necessary in this con- .nection being to provide a suitable base,

frame, or support, with which the vibratory member may be connected, as herein described, and which will serve as a support for the crystal, transparent, or translucent and stationary front member d.

Having fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

1. In a device of the class described, a frame or support, a stationary, transparent, or trans lucent front member mounted therein; a vibratory member mounted therein rearwardly of the front member and resiliently connected with the frame or support by means of cylindrical devices connected with said frame or support, hollow cylindrical members connected with the vibratory member and inclosing said cylindrical devices, pins connected with the cylindrical devices and spiral springs mounted on said pins and connected with said cylindrical devices and said hollow cylindrical members, substantially as shown and described.

2. In a jewelry-mounting, an open annular body portion, a stationary front member mounted therein and consisting of a crystal or other transparent or translucent device, a transverse support at the back of the front member, and a vibratory member resiliently connected with said support'and between the same and the front member.
