DISINFECTING APPARATUS.

Be it known that I, LON VANDAM, engineer, a subject of the King of Belgium, residing at 44 Avenue du Longchamps, Uccle,

Belgium, have invented a new and useful` Disinfecting Apparatus; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same.

This invention has for its object to provide an improved disinfecting apparatus for use in connection with beer-barrels, wine-casks,

which after being vmixed with the dry steam passes in gaseous form through the egress pipe E for its delivery into the room or space toV be disinfected.

The operation is as follows: The disinfectant-say formaldehyde, Vformol, sulfurous acid, chlorin, or the like-is drawn od from the vessel D through the cock R and. runs through the mouth of the pipe C toward the mixing-pipe B, where it meets the dry steam from the pipe A and becomes gasied. The mixture of dry steam and disinfectant is forced by the steam-pressure into the room or space requiring to be disinfected.

What I claim is- In a disinfecting apparatus a vertical pipe leading to the part to be disinfected and having an enlarged portion, a steam-injector pipe having a nozzle located in said enlarged part, a branch pipe communicating with said enlarged part above the end of steam-nozzle, said branch pipe having an upturned end provided with a funnel, a reservoir for disinfecting iiuid located over said funnel, and a delivery-nozzle provided with a regulatingcock for controlling the flow of the uid into said funnel, substantially as described.
