^ shown; in the form4 or shape of a wedge approximately semicircularin cross-section andinclined along its straight edge, as at 3, from the top toward the lower or shank end of the bolt, so that such I top part of the wedgeshaped portion ofthe bolt is relatively greater in cross-section than the bottom or shank portiony thereof. l As has heretofore been stated, this wedge portion isv preferably formed integral with or-as a part of the bolt 3 are inclinedvrelative to the length of said bolt, and such edges eX- tend outwardly from the bolt, as clearly shown in Fig. 4, forming a bearing orflange upon which is adapted to slide the second member of the bolt, which consists of a wedge-shaped grooved portion 4, approximately semicircular in cross-section and adapted when the main portion of the bolt has' been inserted in the socket to slide upon the rounded unwedged portion of the shank, its inclined face bearing upon the aforesaid inclined face 3 of the main bolt l and the rounded or outer faces of said bolt 4 bearing against the wall of,
the socket in such manner that it will force' the bolt tightly against the opposite wallv and cause the same to be securely held in said socket. When this wedge section 4 has been driven along the shank of the 'bolt into its proper position, the tapered or smaller end of said wedge portion is adapted to lie in the same. horizontal plane with the enlarged or top portion ot' the head of the bolt. This is clearly shown in Fig. 2. To the reduced or shank portion of the bolt at 5, which is preferably screw-threaded, may be secured any suitable insulated supports or hangers for the trolley or feed wire.
The manner of using our improved bolt is substantially as follows: The bolt portion proper is f lrst inserted into the socket until the top surface of the enlarged head is about three-quarters of an inch orv other suitable distance below the bottom wall of such socket, la space being thus left between the head of the bolt and such bottom wall. The wedge section 4 is then driven into place and as it slides along the shank of thebolt will force the head tightly against the wall ofthe socket. When it is desired to remove the suspending device from the socket., it is only necessary to strike a sharp blow on the bottom of the shank of the bolt, when the head thereof will be driven up through the space above referred to .until it abuts against the bottom wall of the socket, and this' will cause the wedge sect-ion 4 to become loosened and to drop from the socket. The bolt thus being relieved of its fastening device will also fall from its posi- ,socket,
bear against ,one and force the head ofthe bolt tightly against tegral head portion,

Having thus described our invention, we lclaim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patentl l. A device of the class described, comprising a bolt having an enlarged inclined head portion, formed integral therewith and adapted to be placed inclined wedge-shaped member, sliding along the head of said bolt, when in position in said such inclined wedge being adapted to of the walls of said socket the opposite wall, substantially as set forth. 2. A device of the class'described, comprising a bolt having formed integral therewith -a relativelylarge inclined elongated head portion anda reduced end portion, such large elongated head portion being `adapted to be inserted in a socket, and a removable wedgeshaped member approximately semicircular in cross-section, sliding on said enlarged inand adapted to bear against thewalls of the socket for retaining the head portion therein.

A device of the class described, comprising a bolt having formed integral therewith in a/suitable socket, and an a relatively large elongated, wedge-shaped f head portion and a reduced shank portion, said wedge-shaped portion being approximately semicircular in. cross-section and taperin g from its top towardthe bottom or shank portion, said wedge-shaped portion being adapted to be inserted in a socket, and a separate, removable wedge-shaped member, ap-
proximately semicircular in cross-section and longitudinally grooved along its fiat face, and having said face tapered from its bottom toward its top ends, such wedge-shaped meinber being adapted to slide along the bolt until its upper end is .in the same horizontal with the upper end of the bolt-head, whereby said bolt will be securely wedged or held in place.
4. A device of the class described, comprising a bolt having formed integral therewith a relativelylarge, elongated head portion,
