TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: i

Be it known that I, W. S. RooNEY, of' Albany, in the county ot Albany, and State of New York, have invented a new and improved Pitcher; and I do hereby'declare that' the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable those skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part ot' this specification.

The presentinvention relates to a pitcher more especially designed for sirups, molasses, 36e., and for house. hold and' dining purposes; which pitcher is so constructed at its nozzle or spout as to prevent all drippings, after liquid has been poured therefrom, from running down the outside of the pitcher, and to convey them back into the body or reservoir of the pitcher. A, in the drawings, represents the body or reservoir portion of the pitcher, which in shape and design may be changed at pleasure, according as lmay be desired or found mos-t suitable; B, the handle to the body A, and C the nozzle or spout thereto, through which the sirup or other liquid passes or is poured from the vessel. This spout or nozzle C is within the vessel or pitcher A, when its lid is closed, and in lieu of being attached to or forming a. part of the upper edge a to the reservoir A, it is attached to or'forrned as a part of a plate or shelf. D, that is fastened to 'the vessel A in an inward inclined position, so as to allow whatever liquid may drip or fall thereon from the spout to pass back into the receptacle A, as in the use ofthe pitcher the liquid contained init is poured therefrom.

I claim as new, and desire tosecure by Letters Patent- The construction and arrangement of the semicircular plate D, secured to oneside of the pitcher A, in an inward inclined position, and provided at its centre and lower edge with the inclined spout C, as herein setforth for the purpose specified.
