GEORGE W. MERK-ER., OF BELLEVILLE, ILLINOIS.
VAPOR-BATH CABINET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 664,282, dated December 18, 1900.
Application iled July 2, 1900. Serial No. 22,362. (No model.)
To (LZZ whom it Wz/oty concern:
Be it known that I, GEORGE W. MEEKER, of the city of Belleville, St. Clair county, State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvementsin Vapor-Bath Cabinets, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact descriptiomreference being had to the accompanyng drawings, forming a part hereof.
This invention relates to vapor-bath cabinets; and it consists of the novel construction, combination, and arrangement of parts hereinafter shown, described, and claimed.
Figure 1 is a view in perspective of the device when in position for use. Fig. 2 is a perspective View showing the device folded away.
In carrying out the invention I provide the Y vertical posts l, mounted to turn in the horizontal footpieces 2. The posts 1 are connected at their lower extremities by a horizontal brace 3 and at their upper ends by the brace 4. Carried by the posts 1, approximately midway of their length, is a horizontal member 5, hinged to which is the seat-board 6 and pivoted to the front side of which are the supports 7. The hinges 8, supporting the said seat-board 6, allow the seat-board to be raised upwardly into a horizontal position, in which it is held by the supports 7, which are placed in a vertical position, their lower ends resting upon the surface. The ,seat-board may be folded away in the manner shown in Fig. 2 by raising the supports 7 upwardly against the seat-board and allowing the forward edge of the said seat-board to drop downwardly against the brace 3. The lower ends of the supports7 then assume a position against the rear side of the member 5.
Pivotally carried by the upper ends of the posts 1 is a bow 9, the object of which is to hold up the cover when the device is in use. Pivotally carried by the posts 1, below the ends of the bow 9, are the arms 10, the said arms being provided on their Outer ends with notches 11, the purpose of which is to re-A ceive the pins 12, carried by the inner side of the bow 9, and to hold the said bow in a horizontal position in the manner shown in Fig. l.
When the device is folded away, the arms 10 occupya vertical position against the sides of the post 1 and the bow 9 assumes an approximately vertical position, the pins 12 being received within the notches 13 in the front face Of the posts 1. The footpieces 2 may be turned inwardly in a plane parallel with the members 3, Ll, and 5.
I claim- A vapor-bath cabinet, consisting of a pair In testimony whereof I aix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
GEORGE W. MERKER.
Witnesses:
