SPECIFICATION forming'part of Letters Patent No. 647,821, dated April 17, 1900.

To allwhom it may concern:

Be it known that I, BEVLY A. FISHER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Hamilton, in the county of Ravalli and State of Montana, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Neck-Yoke Line-Protectors; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains tomake and use the same. 7

My invention relates to an improved neckyoke line-protector for teams; and the object is to providea simple,'inexpensi\-'e, and eifective device to prevent the lines from fouling with the neck-yoke or the end of the pole or tongue.

To these ends the invention consists in the construction, combination, and arrangement of the several parts of the device, as will be hereinafter more fully described, and particularly pointed out in the claims.

In the accompanying drawings the same reference characters indicate the same parts of the invention;

Figure 1 is a perspective view showing my improved neck-yoke line protector or guard as it appears in use. Fig. 2 is a similar view showing the position of the protector or guard when the breast-yoke is detached from the pole or tongue.

1 denotes the pole or tongue, provided with the stop-bracket 2.

3 designates the breast-yoke, provided with the eyes 4 4:, to which the links 5 5 are connected and which in turn are connected to the pole-ring 6, which encompasses the end of the pole and rests against the bracket 2.

what I claim as new and useful, anddesire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States,

l. The combination with the breast-yoke eyebolt and staples, of the spring-wire proteotor formed with terminal eyes having a slidingengagement with said eyebolt and staples, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.

2. The combination with the breastyoke and staples, and the spring-wire protector having a sliding engagement with said staples, of the pole, the stop-bracket fixed to said pole, the pole-ring carried by the breast-yoke and the bolt encompassing said spring-wire protector and having its shank removably fixed in said pole, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
