To all whom it ntay concern.-

Be it known that 1, WILLIAM BEsT, Sn, a citizen of the United States, residing at Abing don, in the county of Knox and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Display-Racks; and I do substantially as shown in the drawings and hereinafter described and claimed.

Figure 1 of the drawings is a perspective view of a display-rack embodying my invention. enlarged scale,of the double supporting-arms and their connections formed from a single length of wire.

In the accompanying drawings,A represents a rotatable post or rod,which, if desired, may be made extensible in any well-known manner to adapt it to varying heights of ceilings. This post or rod has rigidly connected thereto suitable plates 0. b c, of circular or other form, to which the wire arms for supporting the goods to be displayed are attached. The post or rod A may be supported in an upright position in any manner found best adapted to the purpose, either by a suitable frame or tripod B, secured to the floor, or an independent support or foundation may be used, to which the tripod or frame may be secured, a step d being provided for the pivotal end of the post or rod, so that it will be free to rotate.

The essential feature of my invention, however, resides in the wire supporting-arms,with their connections, (shown in detail in Fig. 2 of the drawings, and which may be connected to stationary arms or brackets upon a side wall or other stationary object in place of using a rotatable post or rod, as shown in Fig. 1 of the drawings. In the construction of these supporting-arms O D a suitable wire is used of the desired lengthand thickness, which is bent into shape as follows: The upper end of the wire is left straight or without Fig. 2 is a detail side elevation, on an,

being bent to provide an upright support F, which may be used for any purpose desired.

From the upright support F the wire is bent around at f and outward in a horizontal direction to form the supporting-arm O, and the extremity of the wire forming the arm is bent upward and upon itself to form the hook e of double thickness of wire to prevent the goods from sliding off the arm.

From the pointindicated at g the wire extends down to form the inclined brace E, and the wire at the lower extremity of the brace is bent upon itself to form a pivot-pin h,-and thence outward in a horizontal direction to form a second supporting-arm D. The outer extremity of the wire forming the arm D is again bent upon itself to form a hook e, similar to the hook upon the end of the arm 0. The wire is now extended in a downward direction to form the brace E for the arm D, and the extremity of the wire which forms the brace is bent into shape to form a pivot-pin 'i and shoulder 71" thus completing the doublearm display-rack, of which any number may be used, as found desirable. 1

Having now fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, isr 1. In a display-rack, double horizontal supporting and swinging arms terminating at their outer ends in hooks and provided with inclined braces which terminate in pivot-pins, the upper one of said arms provided. at its inner end with an upright support, substantiallyas and for the purpose set forth.

2. A display-rack, consisting of an upright rotatable post or rod having perforated plates near its upper and lower ends and an intermediate perforated plate upon said post or rod, double horizontal supporting and swinging arms terminating at their outer ends in hooks and having diagonal braces, both of said arms and braces engaging with the perforations in the plates to form a pivotal connection, substantially as and for the purpose described.
