M'. KUSTNER 8v H. LADBBECK.
ABIJOMINAL DOUCHE BATH.
No. 593,527. Patented Nov. 9, 1897.

MAX KSTNER AND HERMANN LADEBECK, OF LEIPSIO, GERMANY.
ABDOMINAL DOUCHE-BATH.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 593,527, dated November 9, 1897.
Application filed June 5, 1897. Serial No. 639,593. (No model.)
T all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, MAX KSTNER and HERMANN LADEBECK, subjects of the King of Saxony, and residents of Leipsic, in the Kingdom of Saxony, Germany, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Abdominal Douche-Baths, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
The present invention consists of an addominal douche-bath in which the weight of the body of the person sitting on the same is utilized to operate the douche, and in order to render the present specification more easily intelligible reference is had tothe accompanying drawing, which represents the bath in a perspective view, partly in section.
The stand A is hollow and serves to receive the hot or cold water, medicament, or the like, said receptacle being provided with suitable paclring-rings y. Within this receptacle is adapted to lit the hollow plunger B, having an open top and a spray device mounted within the plunger at the bottom, said sprayhead m being advantageously interchangeable. If the head is permanently attached,
the bottom of the plunger should be provided. with a plug, cock, or valve, as indicated at l. Several spray-heads may be employed, if desired.
The operation will be evident from the drawing. The weight of the person sitting on the top rim of the plunger B forces the same downward and sprays the liquid contained in the base A up through the spray-heads. The upper rim of the plunger should be bent around, as at p, to form a convenient seat.
adding weight or pressure to the part B.
We claim as our inventionl. The combination of a receptacle A having mounted to slide therein a hollow plunger B having its upper end open and a spraying device mounted in the bottom of said plunger substantially as described. l
2. The combination of a receptacle A having packing-rings as specified, a hollow plunger B to it said receptacle and slide therein said plunger having an open top, with rim bent around and a spraying device mounted at the bottom of said plunger and a valve also mounted therein as specified.
In testimony whereof we have signed our names to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
