To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, GEORGE WALTER NICH- oLsoN, of Butler, in the county of Butler and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Billiard and Pool Table Levelers; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

This invention relates to billiard and pool table levelers; and it consists, essentially, of

a specific form of jack comprising two adj ustable members supporting a separable ring for engaging the bottom of the leg of the table.

The invention further consists of the details of construction and arrangement, which will be more fully hereinafter described and j the parts of thedevice shown disconnected.

Referring to the drawings, wherein similar numerals of reference are employed toindicate corresponding parts in the several views, the numeral 1 designates a male screw-threaded sleeve which rests upon the floor and is provided or formed with a base-flange 2, with a series of vertically-disposed teeth 3 extending downwardly from the lower portion thereof adjacent to the periphery of said flange. The material inside of the-teeth 3 is cutaway, as at 4, to permit said teeth to have a firm contact with the surface upon which they rest. The outer surface of the sleeve 1. above the flange 2 is formed with a series of fine screwthreads extending from the said flange to the upper edge of the sleeve, and adjustably fitting in a collar 5, correspondingly formed with interior female screw-threads. It will be understood that the screw-threads on the outer surface of the sleeve 1 are male threads,

or lowered and will at the same time raise or lower the table-leg to which the device is applied. To facilitate the rotation of the sleeve 1, vertically-disposed lugs 6 are diametrically disposed .on the outer surface thereof adapted to be engaged by a spanner to secure the desired adj ustment. Separably mounted in the upper part of the'collar 5 is a supportingring 7, slightly concave in its upper surface to receive the lower end of a leg and having a series of upwardly-projecting peripheral teeth or spurs 8 to take into the leg. The

lower side of thesaid supporting-ring has depending therefrom a rib 9, forming a concentric shoulder 10, which is engaged by the upper edge of the collar 5 in such manner as to have free rotation. The said supporting-ring permits the adjustment of the leg of the table without disconnecting any of the parts, and also forms an interposed wear-plate between the upper edge of the collar 5 and the adjacent portion of the lower part of the leg.

In application the leg of the table is sea-ted in the upper portion of the ring 7, with the teeth 8 bearing thereagainst. The collar 5 is then placed under the ring, and the upper edge thereof engages the concentric shoulder set forth, which prevents lateral movement. The adjustment can then be securedby turning the collar 5 either up or down through .the medium of a suitable spanner, as speciand by turning the collar 5 the latter is raised be made and substituted for those shown and 1ugs for turning the same, and a rotatable supporting-ring resting on the upper portion of the collar and entirely separate from the latter and having upwardly-projecting teeth near the periphery thereof and a depending rib forming a concentric shoulder which is engaged by the upper edge of the said collar, substantially as described.
