SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 587,193, dated July 27, 1897.
Application filed February 24:, 1897. Serial No. 624,761. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, PAUL SCH'EUNCHEN FERDY, of San Francisco, in the county of San Francisco and State of California, have invented a new and Improved Mustache- Shaper, of which the following is a full, clear,
' and exact description.
This invention has for its object to provide means by which a mustache may be easily and quickly shaped; and the invention consists in certain features of construction, which will be fully described hereinafter, and defined in the claim.
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification, in which similar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the figures.
Figure 1 is a View showing the invention in use. Fig. 2 is an elevation of the invention with parts broken away, and Fig. 3 is a sectional view on the line 3 3 of Fig. 2.
The invention consists in a band of flexible material having two layers a and a stitched together at the center of the band on lines b and having at each end an elastic loop 0. The loops 0 are secured to the ends of the band by passing the loops between folds in the sheets a and a. A
In using the invention the mustache is dampened and the band placed over the mustache, as shownin Fig. 1. The loops 0 are then respectively engaged with the ears of the person using the device, so that the band will be pressed firmly against the mustacheflexible band formed of two layers of mate rial, the ends of which'are turned-in and stitched together, and an elastic loop at each end of the band, each loop being passed be- I tween the end portions of the material and having one portion lying snugly against the inner faces of the layers and the elastic loops projecting from the band at the side edges thereof whereby the bands are held open to readily engage the ears of the person using the mustache-shaper.
