Be itknown that I, EDWARD S. STIMPSON, of Hopedale, county of Worcester, State of Massachusetts, have invented an Improvement in 5 Loom-Temples, of which the following description, in connection with the accompanying drawings, is a specification, like letters and figures on the drawings representing like parts.

This invention has for its object to improve and simplify loom temples, the construction of the temple being such as to enableitto be readily adjusted for use on looms adapted to weaving cloth of difierent widths.

In accordance therewith, my invention consists in abase plate adapted to be applied to the top of a breast-beam in an adjustable manner, a detachable wed ge-shaped lift plate having an overhanginglip or flange extended toward the central part of the length of the breast-beam, and a screw to connect said lift plate and said base plate, combined with a two-part case composed of a top plate having a slotted flange, an upright and a covering portion, a bottom plate having also .a slotted flange and an upright, and with a shank adapted to enter said two-part case, a pod, cap and roll, to operate, substantially as will be described. I

The base plate A, adapted to rest upon the top of the breast-beam, has a long slot A for the reception of a bolt or screw by which to attach the plate to the said beam and yet permit it to be adjusted on the beam according as wider or narrower cloth is being woven.

V The case D is of peculiar construction,viz: It is composed of a top plate and a bottom plate. The top plate consists of a slotted flange a, an upright a, and a horizontally extended cover (1?. The lift plate is 'made tapering, as best shown in Fig. 2, so as to give to the case the desired tip or inclination downward toward the lay, and these plates E are made interchangeable so that a plate of the proper thickness and pitch may be substituted according to the requirements of the cloth being woven.
