SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 456,614, dated July 28, 1891.
Application iiled March 17, 1891. Serial No. 385,423. (No model.)
i specification.
The invention relates to improvements in show-racks for counters and the like.
The object of the present invention is to provide for counters and the like a showrack that is simple and inexpensive in construction, adapted to readily receive goods to be displayed and to be adjusted vertically, and capable of being readily arranged beneath the counter and out ot' the way when desired.
The invention consists in the construction and novel combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings, and pointed out in the claim hereto appended.
In the drawings, Figure l is a side elevation of a rack constructed in accordance with this invention, shown applied to a counter. Fig.` 2 is a vertical sectional view of the same. Fig. 3 is a reverse plan View of the counter, showing the rack arranged beneath the same.
Referring to lthe accompanying drawings, l designates an angular bracket, which has its inner end secured to a counter 2 by a keeper 3 and has its outer end provided with perforations 4, in which are arranged verticallyadjustable rods 5, which are secured in their adjustment by set-screws 6, arranged at the sides of the bracket l in threaded openings communicating with the perforations 4. The upper ends of the rods are bent at right angles and are adapted to support the goods to be displayed, and when the rack is not in use the rods are lowered and are turned under the counter, as illustrated in Fig. 3 of the accompanying drawings. The keeper is provided with a rectangular recess to receive the inner end of the angular bracket l, which is secured against longitudinal movement by a set-screw 7. The set-screw 7 is centrally arranged and engages the lower face of the inner end of the bracket, and the latter may be entirely removed from the keeper or moved inward under the counter and arranged as shown in Fig. 3. The ends of the keeper are perforated and are secured by screws or the like to the lower face of the counter.
It will be seen that-the show-rack is simple and inexpensive in construction, adapted to be readily attached to a counter, and is capable of vertical adjustment and of being folded when not in use beneath the counter without detaching it therefrom.
What I claim is- A bracket comprising the keeper having a recess and secured to the lower face of a counter or table and provided with a set-screw, the angular bracket having its inner end arranged in the recess of the keeperand adapted to be engaged bythe set-screw and having its outer end provided with perforations and with set-screws 6, and the rodshaving their upper ends bent and being arranged in the perforations and `adapted to be engaged by the setscrew, substantially as described.
. In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my own I have hereto afiixed my'signature in presence of two witnesses.
