Pin b is made stationary in shank B and inserted through slot o of tumbler Gand slot d of tumbler D and into hole a of knob A for the purpose of turning shank B with knob A and not allowing tumblers C and D to revolve around bolt F any farther than from one end to the other of said slots, and also to prevent knob A from being unscrewed. Spring d', (shown in Fig. 5,) attached at one extremity to tumbler D and at the other extremity to sleeve E by small pin c, and spring E', (shown in Fig. 7,) attached at one eXtremity to sleeve knob-plate E by spring attachment E2 and at the other extremity to the sleeve ot' tumbler C byl means of pin c', are for the purpose of keeping the notches D of tumblerD and C of tumbler C in line when the knobs are not being` turned, so that the webs of the keys may be inserted through said notches. 'When it is desired to change the combination, the inside knob II is unscrewed from the bolt F sufficiently to allow knob A to be freed from the pin b', when said knob A can also be unscrewed from bolt F and the keys O turned over, reversing their position from that shown in Fig. 2, it becoming necessarythen to push the vkeys in to unlock the door. Keys O may also be'placed so that it may be necessary to push each alternate key in and the others out to unlock the door, or changed and made more or less complicated, according to the number of keys, which may be any number. Notches D2 of tumbler D are for the purpose of keeping the keys from being pushed in or out when the knobs are being turned.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States, is

l. In a combination door-lock, knob A, screwed on spindle F and provided with shank 3, sleeve knob-plate E, tumbler D, and sleevetumbler C, made to connect with flange-sleeve G, spindle F, provided with pin f, and bolt II, provided with dog 7L,'for the purpose setforth and described.

2. In a combination door-lock, knob A, provided with shank B, sleeve knob-plate It, sleeve-tumbler C, tumbler D, and keys O,for the purpose set forth and described.

3. In a combination-lock, the bolt II, having pivoted dog h and spiral spring h', in combination with the spindle F, having pin t, and the sleeve G, having the slot g and shoulders g2 g2, as and for the purpose set forth.
