SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 416,280, dated. December 3,1889. Application filed Deoemberl'l, 1888. Serial No. 293,802. (No model.)
To all whom it may. concern.-
Be it known that I, JAMES H. VIoKAEs, a citizen of the United States, residing at Montrose, in the county of Henry and State of Missouri, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Shaving-Paper Holders;
and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled, in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to. the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
This invention relates to 'barbers appliances, and has for its object the production of a device for holding a bunch of toilet-paper, and which will admit of the ready detachment of one sheet at a time therefrom after use, and which can be readily fastened to the neck-towel or other convenient point, or to a strip or nail on the wall.
The improvement consists of a base having one or more hooks on its opposite sides, said hooks extending in opposite directions, and a spring adapted to act in opposition'to one set of hooks on one side of the plate to force the outer sheet of paper against the said hook or hooks, and to clamp thesaid bunch of paper between the said spring and the hook or hooks, as hereinafter will be more fully described and claimed.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view of my invention; Fig. 2, a side view showing the application of my invention, and Fig. 3 a rear view.
The base or plate A is provided on one side, near its lower end, with one or more hooks B, and on the opposite side, near its upper end, with one or more hooks O. The hook or hooks B are designed to hold a bunch of paper E. The hook or hooks 0 form a support for the device and are designed to enter the .hooks B B are employed, the spring D is arranged between them.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
1. The herein-described device for barbers, composed of the plate having hooks at its opposite ends and on its opposite sides, subsitantially as described, for the purpose speci- 2. The herein-described device for the purpose specified, composed of the plate having hooks on its opposite sides and at its opposite ends, and the spring to act in opposition to one of the said sets of hooks, substantially as described.
3. The combination of the base A, the hooks B and 0, formed on the ends of a common wire, and the spring D, substantiallyas described.
4. The herein-described device for the purpose described, composed of the plate having an opening near one end, the wires G, having hooks B and C at their ends, and the spring D, substantially as and for the purpose specified.
In testimony whereof I affiX my signature in presence of two witnesses.
JAMES H. VICKARS.
