UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
CHARLES M. CRANE, OF CANTON, OHIO.
HARNESS-TOOL.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 389,203, dated September 11, 1888.
Application filed February 20,1888. Serial No. 264.677.
5'0 all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that 1, CHARLES M. CRANE, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Canton, county of Stark, State of Ohio, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Harness-Wrenches,of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, making part of this specification.
My invention relates to improvements in harness-wrenehes5 and it consistsin providing a wrench by which the different parts ofa harness may be adjusted and secured for the use of the merchant and salesman of harness as well as those using harness.
Vith these ends in view,n1y invention consists in providing as a new article of manufactnrea harness-wrench, as will be hereinafter described, and set forth in the claim.
Figure 1 isa view of a haruesswrench representing my invention; Fig. 2, a harnessbolt. Fig. 3 is a view ofharness saddle, showing the manner of using the wrench.
The construction of the wrench A is substantially as shown in Fig. 1, the handlesB and (J pivotally secured,as at D, and thejaws (No model.)
E are round and pointed and turned inwardly to enter the aperture F in the head ofthe harness-bolt G, as shown in Fig. 3. The end of the handle B is formed as an ordinary screw- 0 driver, B, for the purpose of turning the screw H. The handle 0 is drawn toa point, forming an awl,to be used about the harness for various purposes.
Having thus fully described the nature and object of my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
As an improved article of manufacture, a harnesswrench consisting, essentially, of the' inwardly-turned end-pointed jaws E, handle B, having on its outer end a screw-driver, as B, and the handle 0, having the outer end drawn to a point, as O, forming an aw], substantially as shown, and for the purpose set forth. 45
