669.62] 3/190! Condcrman 272/49 1 Claim, 3 Drawing Figures EXERCISING DEVICE This invention relates generally to apparatus upon which physical exercises can be performed.
A principle object of the present invention is to provide an exercising device which is versatile so that different forms of exercises can be done thereupon, thus developing the muscles of different parts of a persons body.
Another object is to provide an exercising device that is adaptable for use by men, women and also children,
Still another object is to provide an exercising device that will promote good health, reduce excess weight, and make a person feel younger.
Other objects are to provide an exercising device that is simple in design, inexpensive to manufacture, rugged in construction, easy to use and efficient in operation.
These and other objects will be readily evident upon a study of the following specification and the accompanying drawing wherein:
FIG. 1 is a side view of a modified design of the invention.
FIG. 2 is a front view thereof.
FIG. 3 is an enlarged detail ofa belt used in the structure illustrated in FIGS. 1 and 2.
In FIGS. 1 and 2, a modified design of an exercising device 34 is shown in which the ladder 35 supports a rotatable frame 36 pivotable about shafts 37 and 38, the latter of which is driven through pulley 39, belt 40, pully 41, worm gear 42 on a side of pulley 41 and a worm 43 powered by motor 44 so the frame can be rotated as shown by arrows 45. The frame includes exercising rollers 46 driven through pulleys 47 endless belt 48 and hand crank 49 so a person resting against the rollers can massage himself. As shown in FIG. 3 the rollers 50in a modified design include vacuum cups 51 on their surfaces which serves to apply vacuum pressure against a body surface and which also serve as drive means to rotate the rollers by engaging protrutions 52 on rollers 53 between the rollers 50. Thus when one roller 50 is powered, all the rollers turn so to give a vacuum pressure massage to a body surface 54. Rollers 46 have opposite direction spirals at each end as shown in FIG. 1, each alternate roller being in same spiral direction.
Such vacuum pressure aids in improving blood circulation in a persons body.
While various changes may be made in the detail construction, it is understood that such changes will be within the spirit and scope of the present invention as is defined by the appended claims.
What is claimed is:
1. An exercising device comprising a base;
a ladder comprising a plurality of uprights with rungs extending therebetween securred to said base;
a user supporting frame pivotally mounted between said uprights;
a hand crank mounted for rotation within said frame;
a plurality of massage rollers extending substantially parallel to each other and journelled to said frame for rotation about their longitudinal axes; means connecting said hand crank to at least one of said rollers to drive the same about its longitudinal axis, and means for driving all said rollers from said at least one roller comprising a plurality of vacuum cups on the surface of said rollers and a second plurality of rollers with protrustions thereon, one of said second plurality of rollers being located between each two adjacent first rollers with the protrusions on said second plurality of rollers engaging
