Abstract

A photographic diapositive copying apparatus includes a bellows supported between a pair of end mountings. An objective is arranged at one and a film or slide carrier at the other at the end mountings, and a rail or rod guide is provided on which the carrier is movable. This carrier is intergaged with one of the mountings.

DIAPOSITIVE COPYING APPARATUS FOR PHOTOGRAPHIC CAMERAS BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION This invention relates to a diapositive copying apparatus for photographic cameras comprising a first mounting with an objective connected thereto, a second and front mounting holding a diapositive and film carrier, a bellows connected between said first and second mountings, and a rail guide along which said second mounting is movable.
Diapositive copying apparatus of the aforementioned type are known. Their function is to copy diapositives through the medium of the bellows provided device. Important parts of copying apparatus of this kind, namely the mountings which carry the sun shade bellows, are made of metal, as is also the diapositive and film carrier, and machined castings are usually employed for this purpose. These castings are provided with rail guide means which are screwed thereto. The production of such apparatus is troublesome and laborious because of the high degree of precision required.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION It is an object of the present invention to provide for a diapositive copying apparatus of this kind which can be produced with less expenditure of time and labour. To achieve this, it is proposed in accordance with the invention that the diapositive and film carrier and the second and front mounting shall be interengaged in the operative condition of the apparatus.
Using this proposal according to the invention, it is possible to make the diapositive and film carrier in particular, but also the front mounting, of a plastic material without it being necessary to provide additional rail guide means of metal. Since one element can embrace the other, it is possible to accept the increased wall thicknesses, which are necessitated by the use of plastic material, without thereby noticeably increasing the overall dimensions.
The larger dimensions of the rail coupling means also make it easier to insert one part in the other.
In a preferred form of the invention the said carrier embraces the second mounting from the exterior. The reverse arrangement is possible, but it is to be preferred that the mounting should be simpler and somewhat smaller than the carrier.
Although it is possible to make both the carrier and the front mounting from a plurality of parts, it is preferred in the present invention to use a one piece construction of the rail guide means on the one hand and the mounting or carrier on the other. Also preferred is an arrangement in which the two parts are directly juxtaposed, at least to a partial extent. This considerably reduces the cost of manufacture.
In accordance with further features of the invention,
the rail guide comprises a rod system which is rigidly are employed. To eliminate play, however, it is neces sary to provide a spring means in the guide systems. A very simple construction is achieved if use is made of a spring which substantially comprises two parts which are connected together at right angles to one another, one of these parts prohibiting play in the guide means in the direction of the optical axis of the assembly, and the other spring part taking up the play at right angles to this. In particular the spring means comprises a center zone which carries the fastening means and four resilient tongues in all.
Further the invention proposes a very simple constructional arrangement for mounting the lightpermeable screen which is necessary in copying appliances of this character. To this end the apparatus may include a presser plate for applying a light-permeable screen against said carrier, the presser plate being carried by an arm pivotally mounted on said second mounting and having a spring-urged finger piece cooperation with a grip element on said second mounting, and said grip element and finger piece being jointly disposed at an angle of approximately 45 to the optical axis of the apparatus.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS In the diapositive copying apparatus illustrated in the drawings, an adjustable light-tight housing is shown which comprises a bellows 25 forming a sun shade for an objective, and having a mounting 26 connectable to the objective and a mounting 2 which carries the diapositive and film carrier 1. The carrier 1 has a guide means embracing the mounting 2 as can be seen particularly from FIG. 3.
At its lower edge the mounting 2 has a cranked-off, or bent extension 17 which is used to couple it to a rod system 3 engaged in standard fashion in corresponding guides which, for example, also carry the mountings of the bellows device arranged between the camera and the objective. The rod system 3 comprises an additional support in the form of an intermediate piece 21 which is held on the angle member 22 by means of a coupling screw 19. An elongated hole is provided in the piece 21 for this purpose and screw holes 23 are furnished in the angle members 22 for fastening 21 to 22. In addition, the angle member 22 is provided with a strip 24 which, for example, is held against the fastening means by which the bellows device is arranged on a stand or the like. The use of a plurality of screw holes 23 and the elongated hole 24) in the intermediate piece 21 caters for adaption to possible varying dimensions of different constructional components.
An arm is pivotally mounted at the hinge 27 of the diapositive and film carrier and the latter is provided with a lug which cooperation with a finger piece 14- on the pivotal arm 5 to form a clip. Arranged between the two clip parts 14 and 15 is a spring which urges a press plate 11 carried by the arm 5 against the diapositive and film carrier. A screw 16 is used to limit the movement of the two clip parts. It is observed that both clip parts 114 and 15 are at an acute angle to the optical axis ofthe assembly, and by this means an adequate distance is maintained from the cranked extension 17.
A light-permeable screen 13 is held in the press plate 11 which is in the form of a frame. As can be seen from FIG. 2 the plate 11 has resilient arms 12 which serve to hold the screen 13. The ends 28 of these arms are applied against the screen 13, as can be seen particularly from the illustration in FIG. 4, which shows the parts I and Il partially in section and partly in elevational view.
The construction of the play-eliminating spring 4 disposed between the diapositive and film carrier I and the mounting 2 is illustrated more particularly in FIGS. 5A, B and C. This spring 4 has a central part 6 with a fastening hole 7, and an offset part 10 provided on the part 6. In all, the spring 4 has four resilient tongues 8 and 9, the tongues 8 obstructing play in the direction of the optical axis of the assembly, and tongues 9 the play at right angles to this, arranged in the guides between the parts I and 2.
The distance of travel of the diapositive and film carrier 1 relative to the mounting 2 is limited by the screw 18 which enables the level of the diacopier used at any time to be adjusted.
I claim:
I. In a diapositive copying apparatus for photographic cameras comprising a first mounting connectible to an objective of a camera, a second mounting holding a diapositive and film carrier, a bellows connected between said first and second mountings for forming an adjustable light-tight housing and a rail guide on which said second mounting is mounted for movement therealong, the improvement wherein the said carrier and said second mounting are interengaged in the operative condition of the apparatus by one of the carrier and second mounting embracing the other, the said carrier having guide means embracing the second mounting from the exterior thereof, and these two parts are at least partially applied directly against one another and a spring disposed between the carrier and the diapositive for eliminating play therebetween.
2. In a diapositive copying apparatus for photographic cameras comprising a first mounting connectible to an objective of a camera, a second mounting holding a diapositive and film carrier, a bellows connected between said first and second mountings for forming an adjustable light-tight housing, and a rail guide on which said second mounting is mounted for movement therealong, the improvement wherein the said carrier and said second mounting are interengaged in the operative condition of the apparatus by one of its carrier and second mounting embracing the other, the said carrier embracing the second mounting from the exterior thereof, and these two parts being at least par tially applied directly against one another, at least one spring means being disposed between the carrier and the second mounting, said spring means having components disposed to act at right-angles to one another to eliminate play between the carrier and said second mounting, respectively in the direction of the optical axis of the apparatus and at right angles to this direction.
3. A diapositive copying apparatus according to claim 2, in which the said spring means is of plate form and comprises a cental zone with four resilient tongues disposed therearound and offset relatively thereto.
4. A diapositive copying apparatus according to claim 3, further including set screw means for determining the heightwise position of said carrier on the second mounting.
5. A diapositive copying apparatus according to claim 2, in which the rail guide comprises a rod system which is rigidly connected to the second and front mountings.
6. A diapositive copying apparatus according to claim 5, in which the rigid connection between the second mounting and the rail guide comprises abent coupling piece.
7. In a diapositive copying apparatus for photographic cameras comprising a first mounting connectible to an objective of a camera, a second mounting holding a diapositive and film carrier, a bellows connected between said first and second mountings for forming an adjustable light-tight housing, and a rail guide on which said second mounting is mounted for movement therealong, the improvement wherein the said carrier and said second mounting are interengaged in the operative condition of the apparatus by one of the carrier and second mounting embracing the other, and, a presser plate for applying a light-permeable screen against said carrier, the presser plate being carried by an arm pivotally mounted on said second mounting and having a spring-urged finger piece cooperating with a grip element on said second mounting, and said grip element and finger piece being jointly disposed at an angle approximately 45 to the optical axis of the apparatus.

Claims (7)

1. In a diapositive copying apparatus for photographic cameras comprising a first mounting connectible to an objective of a camera, a second mounting holding a diapositive and film carrier, a bellows connected between said first and second mountings for forming an adjustable light-tight housing and a rail guide on which said second mounting is mounted for movement therealong, the improvement wherein the said carrier and said second mounting are interengaged in the operative condition of the apparatus by one of the carrier and second mounting embracing the other, the said carrier having guide means embracing the second mounting from the exterior thereof, and these two parts are at least partially applied directly against one another and a spring disposed between the carrier and the diapositive for eliminating play therebetween.
2. In a diapositive copying apparatus for photographic cameras comprising a first mounting connectible to an objective of a camera, a second mounting holding a diapositive and film carrier, a bellows connected between said first and second mountings for forming an adjustable light-tight housing, and a rail guide on which said second mounting is mounted for movement therealong, the improvement wherein the said carrier and said second mounting are interengaged in the operative condition of the apparatus by one of its carrier and second mounting embracing the other, the said carrier embracing the second mounting from the exterior thereof, and these two parts being at least partially applied directly against one another, at least one spring means being disposed between the carrier and the second mounting, said spring means having components disposed to act at right-angles to one another to eliminate play between the carrier and said second mounting, respectively in the direction of the optical axis of the apparatus and at right angles to this direction.
3. A diapositive copying apparatus according to claim 2, in which the said spring means is of plate form and comprises a cental zone with four resilient tongues disposed therearound and offset relatively thereto.
4. A diapositive copying apparatus according to claim 3, further including set screw means for determining the heightwise position of said carrier on the second mounting.
5. A diapositive copying apparatus according to claim 2, in which the rail guide comprises a rod system which is rigidly connected to the second and front mountings.
6. A diapositive copying apparatus according to claim 5, in which the rigid connection between the second mounting and the rail guide comprises a bent coupling piece.
7. In a diapositive copying apparatus for phoTographic cameras comprising a first mounting connectible to an objective of a camera, a second mounting holding a diapositive and film carrier, a bellows connected between said first and second mountings for forming an adjustable light-tight housing, and a rail guide on which said second mounting is mounted for movement therealong, the improvement wherein the said carrier and said second mounting are interengaged in the operative condition of the apparatus by one of the carrier and second mounting embracing the other, and, a presser plate for applying a light-permeable screen against said carrier, the presser plate being carried by an arm pivotally mounted on said second mounting and having a spring-urged finger piece cooperating with a grip element on said second mounting, and said grip element and finger piece being jointly disposed at an angle approximately 45* to the optical axis of the apparatus.
